The Canada Flood Map inventory shows areas in Canada where a copy of a flood hazard map has been collected by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The inventory does not display flood zones or extents, but provides information on how to access these flood hazard maps. Depending on the license and availability status to the public, there may be links for download, along with reference information to the original source and/or data owner. NRCan collaborates with provincial and territorial governments to gather flood hazard maps from provinces, territories, municipalities, and other agencies responsible for flood mapping. The inventory is regularly updated to improve its completeness and accuracy. Disclaimer: The Canada Flood Map (CFM) does not include every flood hazard map in Canada and may be incomplete or contain inaccuracies. It should not be relied upon as the official source of flood mapping information. Furthermore, if a map appears to be missing, this does not necessarily mean that the area has never been mapped. For the official version of a map, updated information, or confirmation of applicable regulations, please contact the local authority responsible for flood mapping.Note: Data and maps in the Inventory can be made available upon request to federal and contributing partners.

Rideau Canal Skateway - Ice condition by sectionEach winter, the NCC transforms the historic Rideau Canal into the world’s largest skating rink. The Rideau Canal Skateway winds its way through the heart of the National Capital over a total length of 7.8 km. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Rideau Canal in winter becomes a treasure that is the pride of the National Capital and a signature destination.The skating season typically runs from January to early March, but it is weather-dependent. When open, the Skateway is free and accessible 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.When the Skateway is open, ice conditions are monitored by section twice daily, at approximately 8 am and 4 pm.

TA_CROWN_REV_SHARE_AGRMNTS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Crown Land Revenue Sharing Agreements. A Revenue Sharing Agreement is made between the crown and one or more parties to share revenue. The view was created to provide a simplified presentation of this single tenure type from the disposition information in the Tantalis operational system. The same content could be derived from the TA_CROWN_TENURES_SVW by filtering to this tenure type only. It’s possible that this dataset may contain few or no records, depending on the current number of active tenures or applications.

A tribal council is a grouping of First Nations with common interests who voluntarily joined together to provide services to member First Nations.The tribal council geographic location dataset contains the geographic location of all tribal councils in Canada as points as well as basic attributes data. Each tribal council point represents its address as it is registered in Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) Indian Government Support System (IGSS). A connection with the IGSS is in place to ensure that any update to the system is reflected in the attributes data associated with the geography of each tribal council. This dataset is Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) official source for Tribal Councils geographic location on maps.

The Canadian Hydrospatial Network (CHN) is an analysis-ready geospatial network of features that help enable the modelling of surface water flow in Canada. The six main layers and feature types are: flowlines, waterbodies, catchments, catchment aggregates, work units, and hydro nodes. Where possible the CHN is derived from high resolution source data such as Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) derived Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) and aerial imagery, to name a few. If existing provincial or territorial hydrographic networks meet the standards, they are incorporated into the CHN, otherwise automatic extraction methods are used on the high-resolution source data. To provide full network connectivity, if neither of these methods is possible in a region, the NHN is converted into the CHN until higher-resolution source data is available.Additional value-added attributes are included in the CHN to aid modelling, such as stream order and reach slope. The CHN physical model and features are also closely aligned and harmonized with the USGS 3DHP hydrographic network, which aids trans-border modelling. Where possible geonames (i.e. toponyms) are also added.The CHN is produced and disseminated by hydrologically connected geographic areas called work units. Work units can contain just one watershed, several small adjacent watersheds outletting into a large body of water, or be one of many parts of a larger watershed. In all cases, the features of a work unit are hydrologically connected. This is a more natural approach to data delivery, in comparison to data that is split into tiles. The Treaty Boundary dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the historical treaty lands of Canada negotiated by First Nations over the years through treaty-making between 1867 - 1999. The approximate boundaries illustrate the traditional territories described in First Nations Statements of Intent to negotiate treaties which have been submitted to, and accepted.

Community Areas are a standard analytical and service delivery geography for the city of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.Community Areas are a standard analytical and service delivery geography for the city of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.  The Community Areas geographic areas were developed by the Community Data Network (now more commonly referred to as the Winnipeg Community Data Consortium), with input from the WRHA, Manitoba Health, the City of Winnipeg, and other stakeholders. Community areas can be defined to either include or exclude the municipalities of East and West St. Paul. Because the Winnipeg RHA is defined to include East and West St. Paul, use of the geographies in a health services or health status context includes East and West St. Paul. Conversely, because the City of Winnipeg excludes East and West St. Paul, use of the geographies in a municipal administrative context excludes East and West St. Paul. This shapefile reflects the use of Community Areas in a health services or health status context, and includes East and West St. Paul.
