Community Hazards - Old Crow - 30m
Landscape hazard maps were completed as part of a community hazards mapping program coordinated by the Northern Climate ExChange (Yukon Research Centre, Yukon College). Potential landscape hazards were assessed under changing future conditions by incorporating a variety of data sets, including surficial geology, topography (slope and aspect), permafrost distribution, site-specific permafrost data (e.g. ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography and borehole data), analyses of past hydrological and climatological trends, and future climate projections. The landscape hazard map identifies existing and potential geological hazards such as landslides, permafrost stability and flooding. The hazard map is presented in stoplight colours to provide an intuitive tool for community decision makers aiming to incorporate an adaptation planning framework into existing land use management practices. Detailed descriptions of data inputs and hazard analysis methodology are presented in an accompanying report (available for download from [https://data.geology.gov.yk.ca/Reference/78488](https://data.geology.gov.yk.ca/Reference/78488)). Flood Protection Works - Appurtenant Structures
Existing flood protection works appurtenances on or near dikes, for example, pump house, floodbox, culvert, gate, gauge, weir, etc. Updated from available Provincial dike survey project data from 2019/2020. If 2019/2020 dike survey project data is unavailable, appurtenance data based on previous data from 2004 and prior. May include periodic updates depending on data provided by Diking Authorities and other sources. See Data Source under selected appurtenance for details. Canada Flood Map Inventory (CFM)
The Canada Flood Map inventory shows areas in Canada where a copy of a flood hazard map has been collected by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The inventory does not display flood zones or extents, but provides information on how to access these flood hazard maps. Depending on the license and availability status to the public, there may be links for download, along with reference information to the original source and/or data owner. NRCan collaborates with provincial and territorial governments to gather flood hazard maps from provinces, territories, municipalities, and other agencies responsible for flood mapping. The inventory is regularly updated to improve its completeness and accuracy. Disclaimer: The Canada Flood Map (CFM) does not include every flood hazard map in Canada and may be incomplete or contain inaccuracies. It should not be relied upon as the official source of flood mapping information. Furthermore, if a map appears to be missing, this does not necessarily mean that the area has never been mapped. For the official version of a map, updated information, or confirmation of applicable regulations, please contact the local authority responsible for flood mapping.Note: Data and maps in the Inventory can be made available upon request to federal and contributing partners.
