Forest genetics zone
This spatial data identifies breeding zones used by forest managers and forest genetic associations to manage provincial forest genetic assets. The data: * shows the boundaries of breeding zones * identifies the primary or target species within each zone Species are associated with certain breeding programs, seed orchards and progeny (descendant) testing installations.
UTM Zones of British Columbia
Portions of Universal Transverse Mercator Zones 7 - 12 which cover British Columbia, Northern Hemisphere only, formed into polygons, in BC Albers projection
Bait Management Zones
Ontario is divided into 4 Bait Management Zones (BMZs) that regulate the movement, possession and use of baitfish and leeches: * Southern BMZ * Central BMZ * Northeastern BMZ * Northwestern BMZ In portions of the far north, using or possessing live baitfish is prohibited, but these areas are not considered BMZs. Oil and Gas Tenure Areas
Tenure Areas are geographic administrative areas named for local features and used to group petroleum and natural gas Land Plats situated within the same local geographic area.
Bioclimate zones and subzones
Yukon Bioclimate Zones and Subzones Version 1.0 is derived from a 30 m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and a set of "rule-polygons". Each rule-polygon contains attributes that define upper and lower elevation limits of the bioclimate zone/subzone(s) that occur within the rule-polygon. Rule-polygon attributes and extent is defined by field data, expert observation and/or available imagery. Where available, rule-polygons were derived from plot data representative of climate (i.e. reference site). Yukon Bioclimate Zones and Subzones Version 1.0 may be used at scales larger than 1:250,000 with caution. This mapping is deliberately extended across the ocean, lakes, glaciers, etc to facilitate intersection with a terrestrial landcover layer of the user's choice. A map legend and map for this version is published in Southern Lakes Boreal Low Subzone (BOLsl): A Field Guide to Ecosite (Environment Yukon 2017). The Yukon Bioclimate Classification and Mapping project is ongoing, and subject to periodic updates or revisions. Because of this, the onus is on the end-user to ensure that they are using the most current version of the data. Although every effort has been made to ensure the correctness of the report and spatial products, there still may be errors. Please report errors in the data to the Custodian.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Game Management Areas - 250k
Game Management Areas (GMAs) are legal boundaries that define an area within which big game management objectives can be met through the setting of area-specific regulations. In other words, GMAs are used to manage Yukon wildlife species. GMAs are a combination of Game Management Zone (GMZ or Zone) and Game Management Subzone (GMS or Subzone). There are 443 GMAs in the Yukon which are grouped together into 11 Zones. In general, Zone boundaries follow highway centre lines and Subzone boundaries follow creeks and rivers. In effect, GMAs delineate mountain blocks, which reflects their original use as sheep management units. Despite this original intent, GMAs are now used to manage all species of Yukon wildlife. With the exception of National Parks, the entire Yukon is covered by GMAs. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) as the digitizing base.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Local Trust Areas - Legally Defined Administrative Areas of BC
Legally defined __Local Trust Area__ polygons were drawn from metes and bounds descriptions as written in Letters Patent for the Local Trust Areas in the province of British Columbia. A polygon dataset that includes all of the administrative areas currently in the __Administrative Boundaries Management System (ABMS)__ is available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc). A complimentary point dataset that defines the administrative areas is also available available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc-boundary-locations). Other individual datasets are available from the following records: https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/islands-trust-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/municipalities-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/regional-districts-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/electoral-areas-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/province-of-british-columbia-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc
Built-Up Area
Built-Up Areas are man-made land cover features, ranging from small hamlets at rural cross roads to large cities. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
TANTALIS - Wildlife Management Areas
TA_WILDLIFE_MGMT_AREAS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the areas under the administration and control of the Conservation Lands Program of the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and designated as Wildlife Management Areas under the Wildlife Act due to the significance of their wildlife/fish values. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the administrative boundaries information in the Tantalis operational system
