Geology Faults
Geology faults are part of the British Columbia Digital Geology, which is the data source used for the seamless province-wide, up-to-date, and detailed bedrock geology. The bedrock geology integrates all details of compilations from 1:50,000 to 1:250,000. The data is maintained by a geospatial frame data model with techniques used to simplify the integration process and shorten the time frame from field mapping, compilation, integration, to data delivery. Geology faults with the related data sets, Bedrock Geology and Quaternary Alluvium and Cover, are displayed on MapPlace and MapPlace 2 and is available for download in shapefile and GeoPackage formats.
Bedrock map index
A Yukon-wide compilation of map footprints and associated citation data for 191 published bedrock geology maps that were incorporated into the Yukon bedrock geology compilation. The maps were originally produced by the GSC, YGS, Yukon Government and various universities at various scales ranging from 1:10,000 to 1:500,000. Attribute data for each map footprint includes: year, scale, author, publisher, map number, NTS sheet and title.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/en/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Bedrock Geology
British Columbia Digital Geology is the data source used for the seamless province-wide, up-to-date, and detailed bedrock geology. The bedrock geology is standardized with consistent stratigraphic code and geometries, and integrates all details of compilations from 1:50,000 to 1:250,000. The latest release (Open File 2017-8) is maintained by a geospatial frame data model, which consists of attributed geological contacts and faults as linework, and outcrops or centroids as points attributed with bedrock information. Techniques are used to simplify the integration process and shorten the timeframe from field mapping, compilation, integration, to data delivery. The release also contains: tables for geological units and colours; ESRI layer files containing bedrock colour symbols; and a map of British Columbia illustrating the suggested colour theme for the bedrock polygons. Related data sets are Geology Faults and Quaternary Alluvium and Cover. Bedrock Geology is interactive with other geoscience data on MapPlace and MapPlace 2 and is available for download in shapefile format.

Base Waterbody Polygon Arc
Base waterbody polygon arcs are feature type, source and capture date attributed arcs that make up the boundaries of base waterbody polygons in the Base Features Hydrography geospatial dataset. These arcs were collected from conversion processes of 1:20 000, 1:50 000 and AVI Provincial mapping datasets and 1:50 000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB).
Annual multidisciplinary survey for assessing groundfish in the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence (MV Lady Hammond 1984 - 1990)
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) conducts an annual summer multidisciplinary scientific survey with a bottom trawl in the Estuary and the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence since 1984. Over the years, this survey has been conducted on four vessels: the MV Lady Hammond (1984-1990), the CCGS Alfred Needler (1990-2005), the CCGS Teleost (2004-2021) and the CCGS Cabot (2022-current). It is important to note that the objectives, the methods used and the identification of the species during these surveys have improved over time in response to DFO requests and mandates. The data are therefore not directly comparable between these surveys. The specificities of the missions onboard the MV Lady Hammond are described below.Objectives:1. Assess groundfish populations abundance and condition2. Assess environmental conditions3. Conduct a biodiversity inventory of benthic and demersal megafauna4. Monitor the pelagic ecosystem5. Collect samples for various research projectsSurvey descriptionThe survey covers the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence, that is the divisions 4R, 4S and the northern part of division 4T of the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO). A stratified random sampling strategy is used for this survey and the fishing gear used on the MV Lady Hammond is a bottom trawl Western IIA. Standard trawling tows last 30 minutes, starting from the time the trawl touches the sea floor. Towing speed is 3.5 knots.DataFor each fishing tow, the catch is sorted and weighed by taxa; individuals are counted and biological data are collected on a sub-sample. For fish, crab and squid, size and weight are measured by individual and, for some species, sex, gonad maturity, and the weight of certain organs (stomach, liver, gonads) are also evaluated. The soft rays of the anal fin are counted for redfish and otoliths are collected for redfish and Atlantic cod. Invertebrates are weighted and counted (no individual measurements). The biological data are divided into 4 files: a “Metadata” file containing set information, a “Catches” file containing catches per set for fish taxa, a “Carbio” file containing biological and morphometric measurements per individual and a “Freql” file containing the length frequency of fish. It's important to note that this is raw data. Only sets considered successful are retained. In each set, all species are kept, with a few exceptions. For more information please contact the data management team (gddaiss-dmsaisb@dfo-mpo.gc.ca).
Natural Gas Underground Storage - North American Cooperation on Energy Information
Sub-surface facilities used for storing natural gas. The facilities are usually hollowed-out salt domes, geological reservoirs (depleted oil or gas field) or water bearing sands (called aquifers) topped by an impermeable cap rock.Mapping Resources implemented as part of the North American Cooperation on Energy Information (NACEI) between the Department of Energy of the United States of America, the Department of Natural Resources of Canada, and the Ministry of Energy of the United Mexican States. The participating Agencies and Institutions shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained herein. Bedrock Geological Units, Groundwater Geoscience Program
The bedrock geologic units designate units of the same types of rock which composed the solid rock exposed at ground surface (as outcrop) or which underlies unconsolidated surficial sediments. This dataset represents a general description of the stratigraphy and geology, including geologic unit thickness, morphology, age and rank. It features a list of the geologic unit names and types of rock (lithology) in the hydrogeological unit, from a controlled vocabulary. While the preferred format to deliver this data is by using a shapefile and its linked attributes, this dataset can be delivered also by providing link to external data which should have at least the same properties or also by joining a georeferenced image of the map.
Vegetation Inventory - Whitehorse - 10k
This feature delineates enhanced vegetation, forest and cover attributes for the Whitehorse, Yukon area at a scale of 1:10,000. The field work for the inventory was carried out during the winter of 2004/2005 with the project delivered by the contractor in October 2005. Delineation was based on 1:10,000 black and white photography acquired by the City of Whitehorse in 2001. New mapping and DTM were available for this project based on that photography. Vegetation inventory polygons contain a variety of detailed information on, for example, the age and type of trees growing on the land base in the vicinity of Whitehorse.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Geological map of the Arctic, 1:5 000 000
As part of the International Polar Year (IPY) 2007'08 and 2008'09 activities, and related objectives of the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW), nations of the circumpolar Arctic have co-operated to produce a new bedrock geology map and related digital map database at a scale of 1:5 000 000. The map, released in north polar stereographic projection using the World Geodetic System (WGS) 84 datum, includes complete geological and physiographic coverage of all onshore and offshore bedrock areas north of latitude 60° north.
