Forestry Resource Roads - 50k
Forest resource roads (FRR) are actively used for accessing forest resources. FRRs are tracked and managed in a road management database. These roads do not represent a complete road network, they should be viewed in conjunction with the Roads -50k - Canvec dataset. Many FRRs are gated with controlled access. There are four categories of roads in the dataset: Forest Resource Roads (act); Forest Resource Access (non-act), Public Access (non-act) and auxiliary roads:- Forest resources road (Act): a road constructed, modified or maintained for the purpose of providing access for forest resources harvesting or management of forest resources that is authorized under subsection 32(1) of the Act, or a road designated as forest resources road under section 73 of the Regulation. These roads were constructed or designated after the Forest Resources Act and Regulation were enacted. - Forest resource access (non-Act): a road constructed, modified or maintained for the purpose of providing access for forest resources harvesting or management of forest resources that is considered a capital investment by the Government of Yukon, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, Forest Management Branch. These roads were constructed prior to the enactment of the Forest Resources Act. - Public Access (non act): a pre-existing public road. In this road network all Public Access is part of the forest resource access network. - Auxiliary access: a variety of access types that do not conform to the above descriptions and may include: research forest trails, skid trails, heritage trails, trails that access forest resources. Forest Inventory Ground Plots - Public Access
The Forest Analysis and Inventory Branch (FAIB) is responsible for coordinating and managing data collection and analyses from a range of different ground sampling programs that collect data on ground plots. This layer shows ground plots from the PSP and VRI programs. **Vegetation Resource Inventory (VRI):** ground samples primarily used to audit and verify key inventory attributes estimated during photo interpretation. These samples are not protected because they will not be revisited. **Permanent Sample Plots (PSP):** subjectively located fixed-area permanent plots, valued for their long-term re-measurement data to support development of growth-and-yield models in unmanaged stands across a range of stand and ecosystem types. Actual GPS coordinates are provided as protection is necessary. - Active PSPs = plot and buffer are protected from harvesting - Inactive PSPs = not protected from harvesting
CDC Species of Conservation Concern - Restricted
Each hexagon in this layer serves as a flag to indicate there is one or more mapped locations of a species that is subject to persecution or harm within the hexagon boundaries. Access to the precise locations are restricted, unless there is a demonstrable business need for the information. Users are asked to contact the Yukon Conservation Data Centre ( [yukoncdc@yukon.ca](mailto:yukoncdc@yukon.ca) ) to request access to precise locations and details on the species involved.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/) . Projects and Transformative Strategies Referred to the Major Projects Office
In August 2025 the Major Projects Office was launched, with the mandate to advance major projects in Canada and streamline federal regulatory project approval. This dataset was created to provide open access to key information about the projects and transformative strategies that have been referred to the Major Projects Office. This dataset can be layered with other data available on the Open Science and Data Platform. By accessing this data, users can conduct more comprehensive analyses to support evidence-based decision-making and inform regulatory processes including future impact assessments. Please visit the Major Projects Office for more information.
Open Database of Healthcare Facilities
The Open Database of Healthcare Facilities (ODHF) is a collection of open data containing the names, types, and locations of health facilities across Canada. It is released under the Open Government License - Canada. The ODHF compiles open, publicly available, and directly-provided data on health facilities across Canada. Data sources include regional health authorities, provincial, territorial and municipal governments, and public health and professional healthcare bodies. This database aims to provide enhanced access to a harmonized listing of health facilities across Canada by making them available as open data. This database is a component of the Linkable Open Data Environment (LODE).
Canada Harmonized Agriculture Forest Land Cover (2015)
Canada Harmonized Agriculture Forest Land Cover 2015 The harmonized land cover (HLC) map is produced from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and Canadian Forest Service (CFS) data. It is developed within the framework of Canada’s National Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring System (NTEMS). The HLC product is exhaustive of all area from the northern edge of Canada’s forested ecosystems to the southern border. The land cover is following Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) categories, represents the year 2015, and is at 30-m spatial resolution. This harmonized land cover map combines two sector-driven land cover products: the Virtual Land Cover Engine or VLCE from the CFS (Hermosilla et al., 2018), and AAFC's Annual Crop Inventory or ACI (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, 2018). The harmonization process was conducted using a Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model. The LDA model used regionalized class co-occurrences from multiple maps to generate a harmonized class label for each pixel by statistically characterizing land attributes from the class co-occurrences, using the information provided by the error matrices and semantic affinity scores. For a complete overview on the data, methods applied, and information on independent accuracy assessment, see Li et al. (2020). Elevation Points - 250k - Canvec
Elevation Features entities are: Contour and Elevation Point. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. CanVec is a multi-source product coming mainly from the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), the Mapping the North process conducted by the Canada Center for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), the Atlas of Canada data, the GeoBase initiative, and the data update using satellite imagery coverage (e.g. Landsat 7, Spot, Radarsat, etc.).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . OIC - Historic Resources Act
Orders in Council (OIC) are regulations or legislative orders in relation to and authorized by an existing Act. This table identifies Yukon lands withdrawn from disposal, usually by Territorial Order in Council. In Corporate Spatial Warehouse (CSW) data is split out into spatial views by Act under which orders are authorized. The tables are comprehensive and include both active and expired orders. Spatial views show only the active data.In this table and spatial views, Regulations by Order in Council (OIC) are spatially represented to provide clarity regarding Yukon lands withdrawn from disposal. Spatial data is viewed by the Act under which the order is authorized. Not all orders are for withdrawal, different levels of withdrawal are common and not detailed in GIS attributes. It is important to read OIC documents for specific details ( [https://legislation.yukon.ca/legislation/page_a.html](https://legislation.yukon.ca:443/legislation/page_a.html) ).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
