Shore Unit Classifications - Line
The Shore Unit Classifications Lines depict the most current Shorezone mapping lines for the Province of British Columbia. Shorezone is an aerial imaging, habitat classification, and mapping system used to inventory alongshore and across-shore geomorphological and biological attributes of the coast. Habitat attributes are interpreted from oblique aerial imagery acquired during the lowest tides of the year.
Ontario moose aerial inventory plot grid
This spatial polygon layer contains all the standardized plots used for the Ministry of Natural Resources’ moose aerial inventory program. The geographic area includes Central and Northern Ontario. These plots are based on the Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) and the coordinates are based on the Universal transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinate system.
Vegetation Inventory - 5k - Soil Moisture Regime
This feature delineates forest and vegetation stands in the Yukon at a scale of 1:5,000. It is an operational level forest inventory (as opposed to a management level). This inventory has been completed in various stages, between 2013 and 2014, and delineation via softcopy from stereo images acquired in the years 2007 and 2012. The aerial images used for the Haines Junction region (Champagne and Aishihik Traditional Territory) had a ground sample distance (GSD) of 40 cm and were collected in both color and infrared. The aerial imagery in the southcentral Yukon were 1:40,000 black and white hard copy images, scanned at 60 microns or approximately 1m GSD.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Shore Unit Classifications - Polygon
The Shore Unit Classifications Polygons depict the most current areas of Shorezone mapping for the Province of British Columbia. Shorezone is an aerial imaging, habitat classification, and mapping system used to inventory alongshore and across-shore geomorphological and biological attributes of the coast. Habitat attributes are interpreted from oblique aerial imagery acquired during the lowest tides of the year. The mapping project was first developed as an oil spill response tool for British Columbia, and now ShoreZone extends from Oregon to Alaska and has many other uses including ecological studies, marine conservation planning, coastal flooding and vulnerability assessments, and community education.
Annual Crop Inventory 2012
In 2012, the Earth Observation Team of the Science and Technology Branch (STB) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) repeated the process of generating annual crop inventory digital maps using satellite imagery to for all of Canada (except Newfoundland), in support of a national crop inventory. A Decision Tree (DT) based methodology was applied using optical (DMC, SPOT) and radar (RADARSAT-2) based satellite images, and having a final spatial resolution of 30m. In conjunction with satellite acquisitions, ground-truth information was provided by provincial crop insurance companies and point observations from our regional AAFC colleagues.
