This dataset is provided by the Ministry of Affordability and Utilities, Electricity Sustainability and Innovation Branch, and identifies the high-quality agricultural lands, buffer zones, and visual impact assessment zones in Alberta designated under the Electric Energy Land Use and Visual Assessment Regulation (EELUVAR) made under the Alberta Utilities Commission Act. These areas apply to applications for the construction or operation of power plants under Alberta Utilities Commission Rule 007, unless exempted under the regulation. Restrictions on development of high-quality agricultural land are limited to privately owned land as per the regulation. This data product includes the following datasets: Land Suitability Rating System (LSRS) Class 2 and Class 3H Lands, Visual Impact Assessment Zones, and Buffer Zones. Visual Impact Assessment Zones and Buffer Zones contain both private and public lands.

These activities along with the physical characteristics represented by aquifer vulnerability and available moisture were combined to produce this map. The classes shown on the map were ranked from 0 (lowest risk) to 1 (highest risk). This resource was created in 2005 using ArcGIS.

These files from Statistics Canada present Census of Agriculture data allocated by standard census geographic polygons: Provinces and Territories (PR), Census Agricultural Regions (CAR), Census Divisions (CD) and Census Consolidated Subdivisions (CCS). Five datasets are provided:1. Agricultural operation characteristics: includes information on farm type, operating arrangements, paid agricultural work and financial characteristics of the agricultural operation.2. Land tenure and management practices: includes information on land use, land tenure, agricultural practices, land inputs, technologies used on the operation and the renewable energy production on the operation.3. Crops: includes information on hay and field crops, vegetables (excluding greenhouse vegetables), fruits, berries, nuts, greenhouse productions and other crops.4. Livestock, poultry and bees: includes information on livestock, poultry and bees.5.
