Innu Audio Index
The Innu Audio Index is an extract from the Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) of geographical names with associated audio. The shared audio with the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) is the intellectual property of the Innu Nation. The points represent official geographical names in Innu-aimun, the language of the Innu Nation. The CGNDB is the authoritative national database of Canada's geographical names. It contains geographical names and their attributes that have been approved by the GNBC, the national coordinating body responsible for standards and policies on place names. The GNBC is working to increase awareness of existing Indigenous place names and help promote the revitalization of Indigenous cultures and languages. The GNBC does not warrant or guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current at all times. For more information, to report data errors, or to suggest improvements, please contact the GNBC Secretariat at Natural Resources Canada with questions or for more information.
National Hydro Network - NHN - GeoBase Series
The National Hydro Network (NHN) focuses on providing a quality geometric description and a set of basic attributes describing Canada's inland surface waters. It provides geospatial digital data compliant with the NHN Standard such as lakes, reservoirs, watercourses (rivers and streams), canals, islands, drainage linear network, toponyms or geographical names, constructions and obstacles related to surface waters, etc. The best available federal and provincial data are used for its production, which is done jointly by the federal and interested provincial and territorial partners. The NHN is created from existing data at the 1:50 000 scale or better. The NHN data have a great potential for analysis, cartographic representation and display and will serve as base data in many applications. The NHN Work Unit Limits were created based on Water Survey of Canada Sub-Sub-Drainage Area.
Natural Gas Underground Storage - North American Cooperation on Energy Information
Sub-surface facilities used for storing natural gas. The facilities are usually hollowed-out salt domes, geological reservoirs (depleted oil or gas field) or water bearing sands (called aquifers) topped by an impermeable cap rock.Mapping Resources implemented as part of the North American Cooperation on Energy Information (NACEI) between the Department of Energy of the United States of America, the Department of Natural Resources of Canada, and the Ministry of Energy of the United Mexican States. The participating Agencies and Institutions shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained herein. These data and related graphics, if available, are not legal documents and are not intended to be used as such. The information contained in these data is dynamic and may change over time and may differ from other official information. Refineries - North American Cooperation on Energy Information
Facilities that separate and convert crude oil or other feedstock into liquid petroleum products, including upgraders and asphalt refineries.Mapping Resources implemented as part of the North American Cooperation on Energy Information (NACEI) between the Department of Energy of the United States of America, the Department of Natural Resources of Canada, and the Ministry of Energy of the United Mexican States. The participating Agencies and Institutions shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained herein. BC Indigenous Business Listings
The BC Indigenous Business Listings dataset offers a brief summary of Indigenous businesses operating in the province. For each business listed in the dataset, information including the Indigenous owner(s) of the company, location, links to websites as well as primary contact information including email addresses and phone numbers is provided where available. This information is intended to facilitate connections between business owners and consumers, investors, and industry. It is also meant to support an understanding of ownership trends among Indigenous businesses.
Natural Resource (NR) Areas
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource Area. An NR AREA is an amalgamation of all NR Regions within the supplied boundaries and acts as an administrative area to these regions as established by the Ministry. This dataset supersedes WHSE_ADMIN_BOUNDARIES.NRO_ADM_AREAS_SP
Natural Resource (NR) Districts
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource (NR) District, that is an administrative area established by the Ministry, within NR Regions.

Tree Type - Common Attribute Schema for Forest Resource Inventories
The Common Attribute Schema for Forest Resource Inventories (CASFRI) is a Canadian forest resource inventory data repository. Forest resource inventory datasets in CASFRI are harmonized to a common data model so that data collected by different agencies following different standards can be used together. Participating provincial, territorial and federal government departments and agencies share current and historical map-based forest resource inventory datasets through CASFRI so that their data are available to users who’s areas of interest span multiple jurisdictions. CASFRI was originally developed by academic researchers (Cumming et al., https://doi.org/10.1139/cjfr-2014-0102). This flavour of CASFRI (CASFRIv5) was developed anew in collaboration with academic researchers at the University of Laval to provide a government version of CASFRI that is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. It uses the most up-to-date forest inventory data provided by participating provincial, territorial, and federal government departments and agencies. CASFRIv5 is hosted on the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers’ data portal, the National Forest Information System (http://nfis.org).
National Road Network - NRN - GeoBase Series
Notice - Replacement of the English and French Web services (WMS and ESRI REST) with a bilingual one.The NRN product is distributed in the form of thirteen provincial or territorial datasets and consists of two linear entities (Road Segment and Ferry Connection Segment) and three punctual entities (Junction, Blocked Passage, Toll Point) with which is associated a series of descriptive attributes such as, among others: First House Number, Last House Number, Street Name Body, Place Name, Functional Road Class, Pavement Status, Number Of Lanes, Structure Type, Route Number, Route Name, Exit Number. The development of the NRN was realized by means of individual meetings and national workshops with interested data providers from the federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments. In 2005, the NRN edition 2.0 was alternately adopted by members from the Inter-Agency Committee on Geomatics (IACG) and the Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG). The NRN content largely conforms to the ISO 14825 from ISO/TC 204.
