This version of the Province of Alberta boundaries should be considered definitive for Government of Alberta use, and supersedes all previous versions.

The distribution of Property - Municipal Boundaries data to the public is provided by AltaLIS Ltd., distributing agent for the Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP), formerly Spatial Data Warehouse Ltd. (SDW), on behalf of the Government of Alberta. The Property - Municipal Boundaries data includes a GIS-ready mapping database created by Alberta Environment and Parks and includes the following: Counties, MD’s, Special Areas, Improvement Districts, Cities, Towns, Villages, Summer Villages and Hamlets. This product is available from AltaLIS Ltd. under the Province of Alberta’s ‘Open Government Licence’.

This dataset is provided by the Ministry of Utilities and Affordability, Rural Utilities Branch, and represents rural low-pressure pipelines (less than 700 kPa) and customer meters in Alberta that are under the jurisdiction of the Gas Distribution Act, including Gas Co-operatives, First Nations, Municipalities and Counties, Private Systems, Apex Utilities Inc., and ATCO Gas Inc. The data is based on the annual submissions of construction as-builts to Rural Utilities, Alberta Affordability and Utilities. The geodatabase contains linear pipeline data features and customer meter point features. The pipeline data features contain: Pipe material. Status. Year built, if known, and the name of the natural gas distributor and general contact information for inquiries and requests. The meter attributes include the type of meter and the contact information for each distributor. The Customer meters features contain: Meter Code. Meter Type. and the name of the natural gas distributor and general contact information for inquiries and requests.

The distribution of Base - Small Scale Topographic data to the public is provided by AltaLIS Ltd., distributing agent for the Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP), formerly Spatial Data Warehouse Ltd. (SDW), on behalf of the Government of Alberta. The Base - Small Scale Topographic data includes a vector mapping database created by Alberta Environment and Parks and includes the following: 1:250 000 Base, 1:1 000 000 Base and 1:2 000 000 Base.

This record contains two datasets: 1. Raw unfiltered geographic coordinates and accuracy estimates of ringed seals tagged in the Western Canadian Arctic and 2. The location estimate from state-space models using a 12-hr time step. In total, 17 ringed seals were captured, measured, weighed, and tagged with satellite-linked transmitters (SDR-10, SDR-16, SPLASH) in June and July of 1999, 2000, and 2010. The tags, manufactured by Wildlife Computers Ltd. (Redmond, Washington, USA), sent data to polar orbiting satellites. Data were then retrieved via the Argos system (Harris et al., 1990). Tags collected and relayed information on movement (geographic positions) and diving data of the instrumented animals.
