BC Schools - K-12 with Francophone Indicators
This dataset is comprised of locations and current information for all schools for Kindergarten to Grade 12 in British Columbia. Indicators are included for schools that offer French programs including: Core French, Early French Immersion, Late French Immersion and Francophone Program.
Community Hazards - Ross River - 12k
Landscape hazard maps were completed as part of a community hazards mapping program coordinated by the Northern Climate ExChange (Yukon Research Centre, Yukon College). Potential landscape hazards were assessed under changing future conditions by incorporating a variety of data sets, including surficial geology, topography (slope and aspect), permafrost distribution, site-specific permafrost data (e.g. ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography and borehole data), analyses of past hydrological and climatological trends, and future climate projections. The landscape hazard map identifies existing and potential geological hazards such as landslides, permafrost stability and flooding. The hazard map is presented in stoplight colours to provide an intuitive tool for community decision makers aiming to incorporate an adaptation planning framework into existing land use management practices. STAC-Item - 1989 - AVHRR Monthly Composite Time Series of Canada
The AVHRR monthly composite time series of Canada at 1 km resolution is a long-term satellite record produced by the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) from imagery acquired by the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) sensors aboard the NOAA-9, NOAA-11, NOAA-14, NOAA-16, NOAA-17, NOAA-18, and NOAA-19 satellites. The dataset provides monthly composite imagery covering the period from January 1985 to December 2013 (1985-01-21 to 2013-12-21), offering a consistent multi-decadal record for monitoring Canada's terrestrial environment. The monthly products are derived from the original 10-day AVHRR composite time series to provide a uniform temporal record suitable for long-term environmental monitoring.
Each monthly image is provided as a three-band, 8-bit RGB Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) with a spatial resolution of 1 km (R: NDVI; G: NIR (0.725–1.10 µm); B: Visible red (0.58–0.68 µm)). This false-colour composite enhances the visualization of vegetation condition, water bodies, snow and ice, and other land surface features. The imagery has undergone geolocation, radiometric calibration, cloud screening, atmospheric correction, and bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) normalization to produce a spatially and temporally consistent dataset suitable for land cover mapping, vegetation monitoring, environmental assessment, and climate change studies. **This third party metadata element follows the Spatio Temporal Asset Catalog (STAC) specification.**
High Resolution Deterministic Precipitation Analysis averaged by watershed
The Canadian Precipitation Analysis System (CaPA) produces a best estimate of 6 and 24 hour precipitation amounts. This objective estimate integrates data from in situ precipitation gauge measurements, radar QPEs and a trial field generated by a numerical weather prediction system. In order to produce the High Resolution Deterministic Precipitation Analysis (HRDPA) at a resolution of 2.5 km, CaPA is connected to the continental HRDPS for its trial field. CaPA-HRDPA produces four analyses of 6 hour amounts per day, valid at synoptic hours (00, 06, 12 and 18 UTC) and two 24 hour analyses valid at 06 and 12 UTC. A preliminary production is started 1 hour after valid time and a final one is launched 7 hours later. This translates into a production of 12 analyses per day.
