Alberta Geological Survey partnered with Alberta Environment (AENV) Northern Region to compile and analyze groundwater data in the Cold Lake-Beaver River Drainage Basin. The compilation and analysis assisted AENV and its stakeholders to update the Beaver River-Cold Lake Water Management Plan. The project completed a digital, three-dimensional geological model of the area. This digital release contains the outlines of formation boundaries used in that report, specifically the boundaries for preglacial and glacial formations.

Waterbody types include: * Lake * River * Canal * Reservoir * Kettle lake * Pond * Beaver Pond * Ocean This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.

This digital file provides the contours of the hydraulic-head distributions for the Grand Centre, Sand River, Ethel Lake and the Muriel Lake formations, and the Empress Formation Units 1 and 3 based on reported static-water levels from water wells within the study area.

This data set was created upon direction from Yukon Government, DIAND, Yukon Region and CYFN following consultations with citizens of Carcross, Ross River, Old Crow and Beaver Creek. Historic placer mining areas in Yukon can be grouped into ten areas: Klondike; Sixtymile; Fortymile; Clear Creek; Moosehorn Range; Stewart River; Whitehorse South; Mayo; Dawson Range and Livingstone Creek. Each area has its own geomorphic setting and depositional history which is related to its glacial history. This dataset contains an extract of water chemistry data from the Cold Lake - Beaver River Basin project area. The work was completed in 2004 under contract to Alberta Environment (AENV). Information was obtained from industry and government sources. These data are available in three text files, each representing one table in the original database. See the accompanying jpg of the original relationship diagram to understand how the data in the text files tables are related.

The dataset accompanies Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2009-01. The dataset contains the results of geochemical analyses of rock samples from the Bad Heart Formation, Clear Hills region and Smoky River region (northwestern Alberta) collected by Alberta Geological Survey from 2004 to 2007. The data comprise elemental analyses of 325 rock samples, including ooidal ironstone, ooidal sandstone, sandstone, siltstone, shale, Bad Heart rubble and till, and conglomerate.

The Ontario Dam Inventory (ODI) is an inventory of medium and large dams throughout Ontario. It uses a point-based system (x, y location) to identify each dam location. The ODI does not contain: * small dams * small water control structures * beaver dams * water crossings * road embankments * locks * falls * rapids * culverts Each dam location has an identifier that can be used to link to other dam information databases.

All available bathymetry and related information for Beaver Mines Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
