Shorezone Biobanding Lines
The Shorezone Biobanding Lines are a linear representation of the various types of biota (flora and fauna) and their distribution, or lack thereof, found in the shoreunit.
Global Environmental eMuLator
The Global Environmental eMuLator (GEML) is a component of the experimental Global Deterministic Prediction System (GDPS) and is an artificial intelligence (AI)-based weather emulator trained on past atmospheric states. More specifically, this GEML model is based on data compatible with the ¼°, 13-level version of the GraphCast model (Lam et al. 2023) from DeepMind. It was trained and refined by ECCC, using ECMWF's ERA5 data (1979-2016) and operational analyses (2016-2021). The weights have been recalculated and are also available to the public. Forecasts are carried out twice daily, each with a 10-day lead time. It generates the reference large-scale temperature and horizontal wind fields, toward which GDPS's GEM forecasts are spectrally nudged. The geographical coverage is global with a horizontal resolution of 28 km. Data is available on 13 pressure levels, and employs a uniform latitude-longitude grid with 0.25-degree grid resolution. Six atmospheric variables defined on the 13 pressure levels, along with 4 surface variables are available every 6 hours.

Fish Pathogen Management Zone Boundary Source
The Fish Pathogen Boundary Segment layer forms the boundary of the Fish Pathogen Management Zones and is made up of segments that were taken from the Ontario Road Network. This data class was created in order to store the road name information associated with each segment that makes up the fish pathogen management zone boundary. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Economy
ECO - Business and economic (economy) Economic activities or employment. For example, resources describing labor; revenue; commerce; industry; tourism and ecotourism; forestry; fisheries; commercial or subsistence hunting; and exploration and exploitation of resources, such as minerals, oil, and gas.
BEC Map
The current and most detailed version of the approved corporate provincial digital Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC) Zone/Subzone/Variant/Phase map (version 13, May 22, 2026). Use this version when performing GIS analysis regardless of scale. This mapping is deliberately extended across the ocean, lakes, glaciers, etc to facilitate intersection with a terrestrial landcover layer of your choice
Fish Health Database
The Fish Pathology Program (FPP) located at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo has been assessing the health of aquatic animals since the early 1970’s. Utilizing traditional diagnostic methods, the FPP has supported internal and external clients to provide clinical data and management advice on the health of aquatic animals. The dataset contains information from diagnostic fish health cases coming from the Salmonid Enhancement Program, Research, Public and I&T submissions. Data contained in the database includes pathogen findings from submitted cases from all of the Pacific Region. The publication of The Fish Health Database will comply with public release recommendations documented in recommendation twenty two, made in volume three of the Final Report (October 2012) submitted by the Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of the Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River.
