TA_SURVEY_PARCELS_SVW Contains the spatial representation (polygon) of all active primary and subdivision parcels of land that are or have been within the purview of the B.C. Crown Land Management program. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the survey parcel information in the Tantalis operational system. This layer is the authoritative source for locating Active Status Growth and Yield plots also known as Permanent Sample Plots (PSPs). These plots are protected and require an additional minimum windfirm buffer of 50m radius in the interior and 100m radius on the coast. These plots are generally 16m radius fixed area plots. Therefore, protected areas need to be a minimum of 66m radius around the plot centre in the interior and 116m radius on the coast. Best practices are to locate the plot centre on the ground as coordinate accuracy varies. The program now maintains partially damaged plots in order to provide critical data on how partially damaged plots grow over time. Therefore, salvage logging is NOT permitted within protected plots. Please contact Anya Reid (Anya.Reid@gov.bc.ca) with questions or updated coordinates for plots. NOTE: Accuracy of the coordinates are variable. Coordinates for plots with a more recent (since 2000) last measurement are generally quite accurate (3m). However, plots measured in the 1990's have a wide range of coordinate accuracy. In all cases, it is necessary to ground truth plot location before block layout. In this spatial layer, low accuracy coordinates are buffered 300m to ensure they do not get missed from development planning. This layer replaces the [Growth and Yield Samples – Active Status](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/0ca49478-5d0f-44e8-b6af-3fd6e387803c) layer with more accurate and current information from the Inventory Sample Management Consolidation (ISMC) database.

This dataset is a combination of landscape unit, biogeoclimatic zone/subzone/variants and Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan leading group type (PineGroup or FirGroup) that patch size assessments are carried out on. Refer to the **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #4: An Approach for Patch Size Assessments in the Cariboo Forest Region** (see below under "Related Links") for more information on how patch size assessment amalgamation units are derived.

ParcelMap BC is the current, complete and trusted mapped representation of titled and Crown land parcels across British Columbia, considered to be the point of truth for the graphical representation of property boundaries. It is not the authoritative source for the legal property boundary or related records attributes; this will always be the plan of survey or the related registry information. This particular dataset is a subset of the complete ParcelMap BC data and is comprised of the parcel polygons and attributes for over two million parcels published under the Open Government Licence - British Columbia. This point feature indicates the location of photo centre points during data capture for the Whitehorse Forest Inventory. The field work for the inventory was carried out during the winter of 2004/2005 with the project delivered by the contractor in October 2005. Delineation was based on 1:10,000 black and white photography acquired by the City of Whitehorse in 2001.
