Feature point layer of the 124 Licence personal care homes (PCHs) in Manitoba.This is a feature point layer of the 124 licensed personal care homes (PCHs) in Manitoba. All licensed PCHs in Manitoba are required to comply with minimum standards of care as set out in the Personal Care Home Standards Regulation under the Health Services Insurance Act. The Licensing and Compliance Branch of Manitoba Health Seniors and Active Living monitors compliance through regular review processes. PCH operators are required to take the necessary steps to address concerns identified in the course of reviews within specified time lines and must provide status updates until concerns have been addressed. PCH licences are reviewed and renewed annually and review findings are used to inform decision-making.  The dataset includes the following fields (Alias (Name): Description)  Regional Health Authority (Regional_Health_Authority): The name of the Regional Health Authority in which the facility is located.  Community (Community): The name of the community in which the facility is located.  Facility (Facility): The name of the licensed personal care home.  Facility Key (Facility_Key): Primary key used to query records in the Summary Reviews table.  Facility Label (Facility_Label): An abbreviated facility name suitable for use as a label in a map.  Address (Address): The street address of the facility.  Postal Code (Postal_Code): The postal code for the facility.  Phone Number (Phone_Number): The phone number for the facility.  Proprietary Status (Proprietary_Status): Refers to the ownership of the facility, either Proprietary or Non-proprietary.  Language (Language): The designated language of the facility, either English or Bilingual.  Bed (Beds): The number of beds in the facility.  Status of Licence (Status_of_Licence): The status of the facility’s license. Boundaries for reporting cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. Areas, zones and subzones show the different geographies available; these boundaries are based on statistics Canada source geometry when possible.On August 4th 2020, the province announced it would change the method of reporting COVID-19 cases, moving from six regions based on former Regional Health Authorities to thirteen zones based on Saskatchewan Health Authority geographies. The COVID-19 Zones are made by aggregating the COVID-19 Subzones, which are based on the SHA Health Networks or aggregations thereof. The COVID-19 Areas are an aggregation of the COVID-19 Zones.  Areas, zones and subzones show the different geographies available; these boundaries are based on statistics Canada source geometry when possible.

The Turkey Lakes Watershed Study (TLWS) was established in 1979 and is one of the longest running ecosystem studies in Canada. It is 10.5 km2 and is located approximately 60 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario at the northern margin of the Great Lakes – St. Lawrence forest region. Researchers from Natural Resources Canada, Environment Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada established the research watershed to evaluate the impacts of acid rain on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Since its inception, the study has taken a multi-disciplinary approach to investigating the processes that govern ecosystem responses to natural and anthropogenic perturbations.The goal of the TLWS is to obtain a whole-ecosystem analysis of the biogeochemical processes operating at the site. This permits system models to be developed and validated. The holistic approach that has been adopted from the outset allows research to evolve and expand from its original acidification focus to include evaluations of other environmental issues.Partnerships and collaboration are part of the founding principles behind the TLWS to improve our ability to measure, model and predict effects of human activity on ecosystem function. Over time, research and monitoring have expanded to explore the effects of forest harvesting, climate change, aquatic habitat manipulations and toxic contaminants. Advancements of our scientific knowledge of forest ecosystems and a baseline of long-term environmental data enables study results to inform Canadian governments on environmental policy and forest management legislation.Hydrological, meteorological, and vegetation data collected by scientists at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre is included in this directory.
