Airborne Radionuclide Concentrations Dataset
The Airborne Radionuclide Concentrations (ARC) Dataset is a general dataset of airborne radionuclide concentrations analyzed at the Radiation Protection Bureau (RPB). The RPB is responsible for delivering Health Canada’s program in the area of ionizing radiation protection. This dataset includes radionuclide concentrations at locations in RPB’s Canadian air monitoring networks including its Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) stations and the Canadian Radiological Monitoring Network (CRMN). The dataset may also include additional airborne radionuclide concentration data from other networks, fieldwork and any additional data collected during emergencies. The dataset shows concentrations of airborne radionuclides that were targeted for analysis and detected, for example, Beryllium-7 (7Be), Lead-210 (210Pb), Cesium-134 (134Cs), Cesium-137 (137Cs), Iodine-131 (131I), Xenon-133 (133Xe), and Xenon-135 (135Xe), among others. The data is presented in xml file format, selected to conform to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) International Radiological Information Exchange (IRIX) Format. The IRIX format is used to facilitate the exchange of web-based emergency data and information to help organizations respond to radiological incidents and emergencies. The map shows the approximate sampling location for each monitoring station. Stations are found within the associated location range.
Projects and Transformative Strategies Referred to the Major Projects Office
In August 2025 the Major Projects Office was launched, with the mandate to advance major projects in Canada and streamline federal regulatory project approval. This dataset was created to provide open access to key information about the projects and transformative strategies that have been referred to the Major Projects Office. This dataset can be layered with other data available on the Open Science and Data Platform. By accessing this data, users can conduct more comprehensive analyses to support evidence-based decision-making and inform regulatory processes including future impact assessments. Please visit the Major Projects Office for more information.
Manitoba Current Municipal Burning Restrictions Layer
Feature layer showing current municipal burning restrictions in Manitoba. This feature layer shows the current municipal burning restrictions in Manitoba. Fields included ( Alias (Field Name): Field description.) OBJECTID (OBJECTID): Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated. Municipality (Municipality): Legal name of the municipality Mutual Aid District (Mutual_Aid_District): Name of the mutual aid district. The Mutual Aid System is a no-charge, reciprocal system of emergency response and assistance that towns, villages and municipalities in southern Manitoba can access through their local fire departments. For more information about mutual aid districts, please refer to the Office of the Fire Commissioner website. Telephone (Telephone): Phone number for the municipal office. Email (Email): Email address for the municipal office. Current Restrictions (Current _Restrictions): Description of the burning restriction notice. The Office of the Fire Commissioner (OFC) asks all municipalities to inform the OFC immediately at firecomm@gov.mb.ca when implementing or changing the status of municipal burning restrictions during times of high fire danger conditions. Contact the OFC if you have questions about the municipal burning restrictions: by email at firecomm@gov.mb.ca by phone at 204-945-3322 (toll free 1-800-282-8069)Contact the appropriate municipal office if you have questions about restrictions in specific municipalities.
First Nations Location
The First Nations geographic location dataset contains the geographic location of First Nations (groups and subgroups) in Canada as points as well as basic attributes data. The location identifies where the First Nations live. Each First Nation point represents its administrative office address as it is registered in Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Band Governance Management System (BGMS). When the First Nation administrative office is located outside its associated most populated reserve boundary, adjustments are made to relocate the point within its boundaries, otherwise within the boundaries of another associated reserve or the city where the administrative office is located. When the administrative office or the First Nation is impossible to locate, the location is based on the best available information on the First Nation (e.g. official First Nation Web site). A connection with the BGMS is in place to ensure that any update to the system is reflected in the attributes data associated with the location of each First Nation. This dataset is Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) official source for First Nation geographic location on maps.
British Columbia Geoduck (Panopea generosa) Age, Size Structure and Growth Parameters, 1993 - 2002
Biological samples of Geoduck Clams have been collected during surveys in British Columbia as part of the broader survey objectives of determining Geoduck density, distribution and population structure. Samples of Geoducks were collected from 41 locations throughout British Columbia between 1993 and 2002. Clams were measured for total weight, shell length, shell weight and were aged. Biological parameters are presented here for individual clams sampled. See Bureau D., W. Hajas, N.W. Surry, C.M. Hand, G. Dovey and A. Campbell. 2002. Age, size structure and growth parameters of Geoducks (Panopea abrupta, Conrad 1849) from 34 locations in British Columbia sampled between 1993 and 2000. Can Tech. Rep. Fish. Aquat. RADARSAT Constellation Mission National Land Mosaic
The Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO) has created a 30m resolution radar mosaic of Canada's landmass from the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM). This product highlights different types of radar interaction with the surface, which can assist the interpretation and study of land cover on a national scale. The national mosaic is made up of 3222 RCM images acquired between August 2023 and February 2024. (Credit: RADARSAT Constellation Mission imagery © Government of Canada [2024]. Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) - Points (SVW)
The dataset contains projects that are currently, or have been, subject to environmental assessment review. Attributes include the project description, project phase, decision, and proponent name. This layer consists of points themed two ways: a. Project Phase- This theme consists of layers showing what phase each project is in - pre-EA, application review, post-decision, and withdrawn or terminated; and b. Project Type - This theme consists of nine layers that reflect the potential types of projects under review. This dataset is coming from the EAO Project Information Centre (EPIC) and is updated daily. For more information on any of the project points go to https://projects.eao.gov.bc.ca/.
