Ontario Hydro Network - Shoreline
The Ontario Hydro Network (OHN) is a provincial medium scale originating from data with regional scales of 1: 10,000 in Southern Ontario, 1: 20,000 in Northern Ontario and 1: 50,000 in the Far North. The shoreline is taken from the OHN - Waterbody data class. This data is used for cartographic purposes and web mapping services. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software. Ocean Data Inventory ( ODI ): A Database of Ocean Current, Temperature and Salinity Time Series for the Northwest Atlantic
The Ocean Data Inventory database is an inventory of all of the oceanographic time series data held by the Ocean Science Division at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography. The data archive includes about 5800 current meter and acoustic doppler time series, 4500 coastal temperature time series from thermographs, as well as a small number (200) of tide gauges. Many of the current meters also have temperature and salinity sensors. The area for which there are data is roughly defined as the North Atlantic and Arctic from 30° - 82° N, although there are some minor amounts of data from other parts of the world. The time period is from 1960 to present. The database is updated on a regular basis.

Year-round utilization of sea ice-associated carbon in Arctic ecosystems
This record contains a comprehensive synthesis of previously published highly branched isoprenoid (HBI) results, providing a quantitative spatial and temporal assessment of carbon partitioning within the Arctic marine ecosystem and validating estimates of sea-ice particulate organic carbon (iPOC) values as quantitative predictors of ice algal carbon in Arctic food webs. This publication was a collaborative effort with the following contributors: David Yurkowski (Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Lisa Loseto (Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Steve Ferguson (Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Bruno Rosenberg (Fisheries and Oceans Canada), C.W. Koch (Natural History Museum, London, UK; University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Maryland, US); T.A. Brown (Scottish Association for Marine Science, Oban, Scotland); R. Amiraux (Centre for Earth Observation Science, University of Manitoba, Canada); C. Ruiz-Gonzalez (Scottish Association for Marine Science, Oban, Scotland); M. Maccorquodale (Scottish Association for Marine Science, Oban, Scotland); G. Yunda-Guarin (Québec-Océan and Takuvik, Biology Department, Laval University, Canada); D. Solar Resource, NSRDB PSM Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) - North American Cooperation on Energy Information
Average of the hourly Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) over 17 years (1998-2014). Data extracted from the National Solar Radiation Database (NSRDB) developed using the Physical Solar Model (PSM) by National Renewable Energy Laboratory ("NREL"), Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC, U.S. Department of Energy ("DOE").The current version of the National Solar Radiation Database (NSRDB) (v2.0.1) was developed using the Physical Solar Model (PSM), and offers users the solar resource datasets from 1998 to 2014). The NSRDB comprises 30-minute solar and meteorological data for approximately 2 million 0.038-degree latitude by 0.038-degree longitude surface pixels (nominally 4 km2). The area covered is bordered by longitudes 25° W on the east and 175° W on the west, and by latitudes -20° S on the south and 60° N on the north. The solar radiation values represent the resource available to solar energy systems. The AVHRR Pathfinder Atmospheres-Extended (PATMOS-x) model uses half-hourly radiance images in visible and infrared channels from the GOES series of geostationary weather satellites, a climatological albedo database and mixing ratio, temperature and pressure profiles from Modern Era-Retrospective Analysis (MERRA) to generate cloud masking and cloud properties. Cloud properties generated using PATMOS-x are used in fast radiative transfer models along with aerosol optical depth (AOD) and precipitable water vapor (PWV) from ancillary sources to estimate Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI) and Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI). A daily AOD is retrieved by combining information from the MODIS and MISR satellites and ground-based AERONET stations. Water vapor and other inputs are obtained from MERRA. For clear sky scenes the direct normal irradiance (DNI) and GHI are computed using the REST2 radiative transfer model. For cloud scenes identified by the cloud mask, Fast All-sky Radiation Model for Solar applications (FARMS) is used to compute the GHI. The DNI for cloud scenes is then computed using the DISC model. The data in this layer is an average of the hourly GHI over 17 years (1998-2014). NOTE: The Geographical Information System (GIS) data and maps for solar resources for Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) and Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI) were developed by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and provided for Canada as an estimate. At present, neither the NREL data, nor the Physical Solar Model (PSM) on which the NREL data is based, have been either assessed or validated for the particular Canadian weather applications. A Canadian GHI map developed by the department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is based on the State University of New York (SUNY) model and has been assessed and validated for the particular Canadian weather applications. The Canadian GHI map is available at http://atlas.gc.ca/cerp-rpep/en/.
Agricultural Ecumene Boundary File - 2016
The national agricultural ecumene includes all dissemination areas with 'significant' agricultural activity. Agricultural indicators, such as the ratio of agricultural land on census farms relative to total land area, and total economic value of agricultural production, are used. Regional variations are also taken into account. The ecumene is generalized for small-scale mapping.A new version of the agricultural ecumene is generated every census years (in vector format) since 1986.This file was produced by Statistics Canada, Agriculture Division, Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysis section, 2017, Ottawa.
ACIMS Non-Sensitive Element Occurrences
An Element Occurrence (EO) is an area of land and/or water in which a species or ecological community is, or was, present. An Element is either a species (or subspecies taxa) or an ecological community, the Occurrence is the documented location. The EO concept is part of NatureServe methodology. This methodology is used throughout the NatureServe network. EOs are created based on the Element Occurrence Data Standard and are a derived product developed from submitted observations. An EO should have practical conservation value for the Element as evidenced by potential continued (or historical) presence and/or regular recurrence at a given location. For Species Elements, the EO often corresponds with the local population, but when appropriate may be a portion of a population (e.g., for long distance dispersers) or may be a group of nearby populations (e.g., metapopulation). For Ecological Community Elements, the EO may represent a stand or patch of a natural community, or a cluster of stands or patches of a natural community. This dataset contains Non-sensitive EOs. Non-Sensitive EOs are locations (i.e. occurrences) of species or communities that are rare (or of conservation concern for some other reason) and for which there are no restrictions regarding public access to location data (beyond agreeing to the Terms and Conditions detailed below). This data updates on a daily basis.
