The Fees Within Soil Zones dataset is comprised of polygons representing the Soil Zones in Alberta that are used with Ministerial Order 49/2026 to allow users to determine public lands fees, rents and other charges for public lands dispositions.

The Fees Within Urban Areas dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Urban Municipalities (cities, towns, villages, and summer villages), Urban Service Areas, Bow Corridor and the Kananaskis Improvement District in Alberta. This dataset is used with Ministerial Order 49/2026 to allow users to determine public lands fees, rents and other charges for public lands dispositions.

The data represents the relative expense of farm chemicals (herbicides, insecticides and fungicides) in the agricultural area of Alberta. It is an estimate of the degree to which crop production agriculture may contribute to surface or groundwater contamination.Agriculture production that makes greater use of herbicides, insecticides and pesticides in generally considered more intensive. Presenting the relative farm chemical expenses by SLC polygons reveals where the most intensive agricultural production in the province occurs. Chemical use is part of an equation to determine a measure of surface water quality risk. If an area is known to have certain risk factors that would affect not only surface, but groundwater quality as well, a higher chemical expense index ranking in that same area may be of concern. Where risks of surface or groundwater contamination exist, environmental farm planning can help to minimize them.

Rent calculation for the use of Crown land for log handling purposes is based on zonal land values. There are currently 11 zones covering the province. The dataset outlines the boundaries for these zones.

This service shows the proportion of average total income of households which is spent on shelter costs by census subdivision. The data is from the Census Profile, Statistics Canada Catalogue no. 98-316-X2016001.Shelter-cost-to-income ratio is calculated for private households living in owned or rented dwellings who reported a total household income greater than zero.Private households living in band housing, located on an agricultural operation that is operated by a member of the household, and households who reported a zero or negative total household income are excluded.The relatively high shelter-costs-to-household income ratios for some households may have resulted from the difference in the reference period for shelter costs and household total income data. The reference period for shelter cost data is 2016, while household total income is reported for the year 2015.
