The Fish and Wildlife Stewardship regional boundaries divides the province into three areas: Northeast, Northwest and South. The areas were created using the existing boundaries of Wildlife Management Units (WMUs). These boundaries are to be used to determine juridiction between each Fish and Wildlife Stewardship Region.

The Fish and Wildlife Development Fund (FWDF) was developed to manage, preserve and enhance fish and wildlife habitat in Saskatchewan. The fund has three fish and wildlife management goals: Maintain natural habitat through conservation, biodiversity, land management and awareness of rare species; Maintain and grow sustainable fish populations and fish habitat; and Maintain game populations and ensure accessible hunting.Thirty per cent of the revenue from all hunting, angling and trapping licence sales is contributed to the fund. Wildlife Management Units are used for a number of wildlife management purposes, like indicating the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas apply. Wildlife Management Unit boundaries are regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act - Ontario Regulation 663/98, Part 6 as amended.

Timing windows are the period(s) during the year when work may be carried out in and about water bodies with the lowest risk to fish and wildlife species and habitat. Timing windows and terms and conditions vary based on regional differences in fish and wildlife species and habitat, and geography. The timing window of least risk to fish and fish habitat must be applied to all activities in water bodies, as well as tributaries that have a risk of depositing sediment into water bodies. Windows of least risk are designed to protect all fish species known to occur in a water body.

This point location dataset of fish observations is a regularly updated compilation of BC fish distribution information taken from a combination of all the official provincial databases including the BC Fisheries Information Summary System (FISS). Fish occurrences in this dataset represent the most current and comprehensive information source on fish presence for the province.

TA_WILDLIFE_MGMT_AREAS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the areas under the administration and control of the Conservation Lands Program of the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and designated as Wildlife Management Areas under the Wildlife Act due to the significance of their wildlife/fish values. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the administrative boundaries information in the Tantalis operational system

Crown Conservation Easements in Saskatchewan administered by Fish, Wildlife & Lands Branch of the Ministry of Environment.This dataset represents all Crown Conservation Easements registered with the Ministry of Environment. Section 11.4 of the Conservation Easements Act gives specific directions with respect to interests on title and registration of a CCE. To be in effect a copy of an executed CCE must be provided to the Ministry. Receipt of this document is recorded in this Fish, Wildlife and Lands Branch database and an Agreement number is assigned sequentially. An interest, based on the CCE, must also be registered with Information Services Corporation (ISC). Currently these two datasets are not reconciled. Technical Details: Crown Conservation Easements are meant to protect wildlife habitat and ecological values on private titled lands in the Province. Crown Conservation Easements are registered as a condition of sale, on all Crown Wildlife Habitat Protection Act lands that are assessed as having Moderate ecological values. A CCE is registered to a numbered parcel. It is this parcel identification that is reflected in this spatial dataset. The Agreement Number is included which identifies the filing number under which detailed information can be found in digital and hardcopy within the Fish, Wildlife & Lands Branch of the Ministry of Environment.
