Shallow substrate model (20m) of the Pacific Canadian coast
The shallow substrate bottom type model was created to support near shore habitat modelling. Data sources include both available observations of bottom type and environmental predictor layers including oceanographic layers, fetch, and bathymetry and its derivatives. Using weighted random forest classification from the ranger R package, the relationship between observed bottom type and predictor layers can be determined, allowing bottom type to be classified across the study areas. The predicted raster files are classified as follows: 1) Rock, 2) Mixed, 3) Sand, 4) MudThe categorical substrate model domains are restricted to the extent of the input bathymetry layers (see data sources) which is 5 km from the 50 m depth contour.
Oil and Gas Land Plats
Land Plats illustrate in map view the oil or gas Spacing Areas delimited in a pool, and names the geological formation in which the pool is recognised. Land Plats are the sole official record of where the Director of PandNG Titles Branch recognizes a pool of hydrocarbons to exist for the purpose of administering oil and gas title
Greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities - Interactive map
The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities indicator reports total greenhouse gas emissions from the largest greenhouse gas emitters in Canada for the 2024 reporting year. The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program ensures that the greenhouse gas emissions from Canada's largest emitters are tracked and reported. This mandatory reporting contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of climate change and energy policies and strategies in Canada. Greenhouse gas emissions data reported through the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program are used to inform the development of estimates of greenhouse gas emissions in Canada in the National Inventory Report, and to support regulatory initiatives. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. See the supplementary documentation for the data sources and details on how the data were collected and how the indicator was calculated.Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators: https://www.canada.ca/environmental-indicators
Predictive model of Li-Cs-Ta pegmatite deposits
This model is derived from geological and geophysical data, which is processed using deep learning and natural language processing techniques. Displayed is a Pan-Canadian probability map indicating the likelihood of discovering next-generation lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites. This map was generated using known Canadian LCT pegmatites and their associated geospatial features, incorporating geological and geophysical data analyzed through deep learning and natural language processing techniques. Higher probability values highlight areas with an increased likelihood of hosting next-generation deposits, making this map a valuable tool for decision-making.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Agreement
Petroleum and Natural Gas Agreement feature class contains provincial extent polygon features representing Petroleum and Natural Gas applications, agreements, leases, and licences, with varying term dates and conditions. These applications and subsequent agreements give the holder the right to explore Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Curie Point Depth
Curie point depth (CPD) mapping in Yukon was done using public domain aeromagnetic data from Natural Resources Canada. In this study, two different CPD methodologies were employed using two different window sizes (200 km and 300 km). Qualitatively, the results were broadly consistent regardless of the method or window size. South-central Yukon exhibits shallow CPD values while northern and southeastern Yukon have deeper CPD values. This suggests that south-central Yukon has higher levels of heat flow in the mid-to-lower crust compared to the rest of the territory. The CPD results are largely consistent with heat flow measurements from the near surface. Specifically, regions with shallow CPD estimates correspond to areas with elevated heat flow measurements. Geologically, the regions with shallow CPD correspond to the Cordillera, while deep CPD areas appear to be co-located with continental platform rocks of Ancestral North America. Comparison with Yukon-specific crustal geotherms derived from other data suggest that the CPD estimates for south-central Yukon are systematically too deep by 2 to 12 km. The discrepancy is likely caused by the need to better understand and account for the fractal distribution of magnetization in the crust in Yukon. The results of this CPD study are valuable in that 95% of Yukon has been demarcated into regions of shallow CPD (higher heat flow) and deep CPD (lower heat flow). These findings should be combined with other data, such as heat generation and sediment thickness estimates, to identify the most prospective regions of elevated subsurface heat in Yukon. Contours have been created for the gridded curie point depth at 1 km intervals and are presented along with the grid.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://mapservices.gov.yk.ca/GeoYukon/) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/) . Rural Utilities Gas Franchise Areas
Rural Utilities Gas Franchise areas are created and maintained by Rural Utilities under the authority of the Gas Distribution Act. It contains the following layers: Apex Franchise Areas, ATCO Franchise Areas, Coop Franchise Areas, County Franchise Areas, Independent Franchise Areas, Community Gas Distributors and Customer Meters. “Changes to boundaries are based on a) additions or deletions of lands under the Gas Distribution Act and b) annexations or dissolutions under the Municipal Government Act.” Franchises cannot be issued for federal lands. However, the gas distributors serving these lands are under the authority of the Gas Distribution Act. Please Note: Rural Utilities assumes no responsibility as to the accuracy or completeness of these plans, Individual distributors must be contacted for actual locations of their pipelines. For pipelines located in Indigenous Lands, please contact the applicable Band Administration Office or the gas distributor for that area. Projects funded by the EVAFIDI, ZEVIP, and CHRI infrastructure programs
Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) and Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative (EVAFIDI) qualitative, quantitative, and geographic data set derived from the program database. This data defines the project number, the number of chargers, the name of the promoter, the type of connector, the address, the city, the province, the postal code, the geographical coordinates, the status, the opening date, and the type of contribution agreement for each project funded by the program. The Canada Infrastructure Bank’s (CIB) Charging and Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure Initiative (CHRI) aims to reduce transportation sector greenhouse gas emissions by accelerating the private sector’s rollout of large-scale ZEV chargers and hydrogen refuelling stations, helping to spur the market for private investment.Through this initiative, the CIB has dedicated a minimum of $500 million to support the federal government’s goals as part of Canada’s 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan. Technology funding current to April 1 2025.
