NWT Aster DEM Basemap
The ASTER instrument that was launched onboard NASA’s Terra spacecraft in December 1999 has an along-track stereoscopic capability using two telescopes in its near infrared spectral band to acquire data from nadir and backward views. Over 1.2 million scenes (level-1A products) acquired between March 2000 and August 2008 were used to generate the ASTER Global DEM (ASTGTM) collection. For more information, please see the metadata link above.
Canada Image Composite (2022)
High-resolution false-color Landsat image composite of Canada's forested ecosystems (2022). This national image product represents the Composite to Change (C2C) proxy composite image derived from thousands of Landsat images acquired between July 1 and August 30, 2022. It is developed within the framework of Canada’s National Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring System (NTEMS). The overall process followed is described in (Hermosilla et al. 2016 ) with details on the generation of gap-free surface reflectance composites in ( Hermosilla et al. 2015). Following the motivation and rationale presented in White et al. (White et al. 2014), Landsat imagery is subjected to a series of processing steps to remove clouds and shadows as well as haze and other unwanted atmospheric effects. Year-on-year time series of Landsat imagery are interrogated to avoid missing values, and to ensure exhaustive spatial coverage of the national surface reflectance composites. False-colour 3-channel image (bands: shortwave infrared, SWIR1; near infrared; red)When using these data, please cite as: Hermosilla, T., M.A. Wulder, J.C. White, N.C. Coops, G.W. Hobart, L.B. Central Kivalliq Glacial Dynamics - 2025 field data
This dataset compiles information and photographs collected at 49 observation stations during a field campaign conducted from July 31 to August 11, 2025, in the central part of the Kivalliq region. It includes the locations of sites where ice-flow indicators were measured, along with their relative chronology where it could be determined in the field. It also includes the locations of till sampling sites collected for geochemical and indicator mineral analyses, as well as sites where boulders and bedrock surfaces were sampled for terrestrial cosmogenic isotope dating.Analytical results and interpretations will be presented in subsequent publications.
Vegetation Inventory - 5k - Leading Species
This feature delineates forest and vegetation stands in the Yukon at a scale of 1:5,000. It is an operational level forest inventory (as opposed to a management level). This inventory has been completed in various stages, between 2013 and 2014, and delineation via softcopy from stereo images acquired in the years 2007 and 2012. The aerial images used for the Haines Junction region (Champagne and Aishihik Traditional Territory) had a ground sample distance (GSD) of 40 cm and were collected in both color and infrared. The aerial imagery in the southcentral Yukon were 1:40,000 black and white hard copy images, scanned at 60 microns or approximately 1m GSD.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Groundwater Flow, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Groundwater flow is the movement of water in an aquifer or hydrogeological unit. The dataset shows groundwater flow rate and direction in the hydrogeological unit. Groundwater flow is establish from piezometric surface map. The method used to create the dataset is described in the metadata associated with the dataset. The dataset represents a description of the flow, including rate in m/d, direction, date and source. Typically, the data provided will not be in the form of a shapefile with linked properties but in the form of an image that sketches the groundwater flow. The image could also represent a cross section of the hydrogeologic units showing the regional trends of the groundwater flow.
