The Ontario Stewardship Program has established Stewardship Councils across Ontario. Ministry of Natural Resources staff no longer directly administer and support Ontario Stewardship Councils. Community-based partners and stakeholders now independently administer Stewardship Councils. We are no longer updating this data. It is best suited for historical research and analysis. __Stewardship Zone__ The Ontario Stewardship Program divides the province into four administrative regions or zones. Any given Stewardship Council will fall into one of these zones. __Stewardship Council Area__ The Ontario Stewardship Program established Stewardship Councils across southern Ontario and a portion of Northern Ontario. Where these councils have defined administrative boundaries, the location is stored in this data class. __Stewardship Council Location__ Most councils have established administrative boundaries that generally conform to upper tier municipalities. There are some councils in Northern Ontario which are generally located in and around a certain geographic location but do not have established administrative boundaries. This data class is primarily used to store point locations associated with these northern councils.

Spatially identified and mapped legal objective lines as determined from strategic land and resource planning processes in the province of British Columbia. Legal objectives can encompass objectives developed and grandfathered under now repealed Forest Practices Code legislation (including Higher level Plans), as well as new and existing objectives developed through the Land Use Objectives Regulation and the Land Act to support FRPA implementation. The purpose of this feature class is to identify those areas that are in the process of Timber Harvest Planning, process being a continuum from proposed plan through to approval and eventually plan expiration. Subsection 20(3) of the Forest Resources Act establishes that an approved Timber Harvest Plan is required prior to the authorization of timber harvesting under a Harvesting Licence or authorization of a Forest Resources Permit for non-commercial timber harvesting in an amount greater than 25m3 per year. Inclusions are a mechanism by which an interest holder can extend for inclusion their holdings based on statutory provisions within the Land and Land Title Acts. Current Land Act tenures and applications for such tenures: a subset of crown land dispositions that are issued for specific purposes and periods of time under an agreement between an individual or company and the provincial government for an interest in crown land. Conveyances of ownership are not included. For example Leases, Licenses and Reserves are included, but Crown Grants and Acquisitions are not. Historical records (e.g. expired, replaced, or completed) are not included in this view.

TA_CROWN_REV_SHARE_AGRMNTS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Crown Land Revenue Sharing Agreements. A Revenue Sharing Agreement is made between the crown and one or more parties to share revenue. The view was created to provide a simplified presentation of this single tenure type from the disposition information in the Tantalis operational system. It’s possible that this dataset may contain few or no records, depending on the current number of active tenures or applications.

Current Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) Zones polygons are hunting opportunities created via a lottery, and the details are found in the LEH Synopsis. Participation in the LEH draw is available to any resident of BC who legally possesses a BC Resident Hunter Number. The purpose of Limited Entry Hunting is to achieve wildlife management objectives without resorting to such measures as shortening seasons or completely closing areas. It is only introduced where it has become necessary to limit the number of hunters, limit the number of animals that may be taken, or limit the harvest to a certain class of animal. The Zones are valid during the LEH hunting season, and changes are made effective July 1st of each yearly. Some zones change frequently, some change rarely.

Surveyed Cadastral Framework for Yukon First Nations and Tetlit Gwich'in settlement lands including rural blocks (R-block) and Site specific (S-sites) lands of the First Nations that have ratified their agreements. Settlement land is land identified in a first nation's final agreement as settlement land of the first nation. There are three types of settlement land that a Yukon First Nation can own and manage: Category A: complete ownership of surface and subsurface; Category B: complete ownership of the surface only; Fee Simple: private ownership. In the source NRCAN ICM dataset all First Nation Lands were included in the Land_parcel feature class. TA_CROWN_RSRV_NOTATIONS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Reserves and Notations. Reserves are a particular type of crown land tenure that grants an agency the right to implement a restriction on the use of crown land. Federal and Provincial government agencies and corporations may apply for the establishment of Land Act Reserves over high value sites required for public purposes, including research and education. Depending on the type of reserve (Order in Council, Map Reserve, Land Act Designation (which can be designated use or prohibitive use) and Notation of Interest) the area is withdrawn from disposition under the Land Act.
