The locations of coastal ferry routes in British Columbia. This includes ferries in coastal waters like BC Ferries, barges, water taxis, etc. but does not include freshwater ferries on inland rivers or lakes.

The following Heritage Routes, are recognized as having cultural and heritage significance to the First Nation People. The Landmark Kilometre Inventory spatial layer is used primarily by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOT) to represent routes against which accident data and traffic counts are collected. This method describes roads by a four number designation referred to as a segment (i.e. 0375) This spatial layer was created based on Digital Road Atlas (DRA) centerline using linear referencing

This dataset contains spatial and tabular data on non-archaeological historic trails in B.C. Some of these trails, or sections of trail, are defined or protected under provincial legislation such as the Heritage Conservation Act. Other trails or trail segments are recorded but not legally protected. This dataset represents line feature data (e.g. trail routes).

FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL provides the information about the Ferry Connection Segments. Ferry Connection Segment is the specific representation of a portion of a ferry connection with uniform characteristics. FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL is one of the base layer used to create "Ferryseg" layer for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). This data layer has been created for mainly MHI data users, that require relatively up-to-date and accurate description of all ferry routes in the Province of Saskatchewan.FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL consists of the data for the average route a ferryboat takes when transporting vehicles between two fixed locations on the Road Network. "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users. FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL data layer serves as a foundation for SURN, NRN, SASK911 and other applications.

Geotechnical reports are indexed within a database maintained by HPW-TEB Geotechnical Unit. Meta data associated to each geotechnical report are captured within this indexing table, including report reference number, title, author, highway and km start and end. The table has been modified to include columns that aid in georeferencing geotechnical reports. Added columns include route ID, Latitude, and Longitude. Transportation Engineering Branch is continually improving its geographical information systems with a major focus on creating linear referencing routes within ArcGIS. Georeferencing geotechnical reports will utilize the linear referencing routes in creating points and line shape files by referencing the highway number and km points or ranges as defined within the indexing table.
