The National Ecological Framework for Canada's "Landform by Ecoprovince” series contains tables that provide regional landform information for components within the ecoprovince framework polygon. It provides landform codes and their English and French-language descriptions as well as information about the percentage of the polygon that the component occupies. Regional landforms generally describe a region and include the various shapes of the land surface resulting from a variety of actions such as deposition or sedimentation (eskers, lacustrine basins), erosion (gullies, canyons), and earth crust movements (mountains). CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. Landform conservation areas represent areas of significant landform features such as: * steep slopes * kames * kettles * ravines * ridges This dataset identifies Category 1 and Category 2 landform conservation areas as defined in the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan. For further information on the definition and identification of Landform Conservation Areas as it relates to the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, refer to the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan Technical Paper Series: Landform Conservation. All digital information is confined to the Oak Ridges Moraine area.
