Versatile Soil Moisture Budget
The Versatile Soil Moisture Budget (VSMB) is a soil water budget model that is continuous and deterministic in nature and was developed by AAFC. It is based on the premise that the water available for plant growth is gained by precipitation or irrigation, and lost through evapotranspiration and runoff as well as lateral and deep drainage. The daily net loss or gain is added or subtracted from the water already present in the rooting zone. Water is withdrawn simultaneously, but at different rates, from different soil depths, depending on the potential evapotranspiration, the stage of crop development, the water release characteristics of each soil layer and the available water.
Water well capture zones
Well capture zones are intended to identify potential areas of risk to aquifers where the release of contaminants could affect the water quality of community wells. The information was compiled as a discreet project under the 'Yukon Water Strategy' and represents a 'snapshot in time' of the Drinking Water Systems. Well capture zones were identified using a combination of buffers, analytical methods, and groundwater flow modelling using the Waterloo Hydrogeologic Inc. Forecasted Basin-Average Accumulated Precipitation (RDPS - 84 hrs)
This polygon layer displays 84-hour accumulated precipitation forecasts from the Regional Deterministic Prediction System (RDPS), aggregated at the sub-basin level. This layer helps hydrologists, water resource managers, and emergency responders identify watersheds with potentially higher rainfall or snowfall, facilitating short-term flood risk analysis and operational planning.Model & Domain: The RDPS is Environment and Climate Change Canada’s regional numerical weather prediction model, running at ~10 km resolution to capture mesoscale weather patterns over Canada and adjacent regions. Forecast Integration: It produces short-range forecasts (up to 84 hours), updated 4 times daily with boundary conditions from the global GEM model (GDPS). Sub-Basin Aggregation: This layer averages forecasted precipitation across each sub-basin polygon, providing a convenient snapshot of expected accumulations for hydrological modeling and water management. Key Applications:Flood Forecasting – Identifying basins at risk of heavy runoff. Resource Allocation – Positioning crews and equipment in vulnerable watersheds. Planning – Adapting reservoir release schedules, urban drainage controls, and agricultural activities
Mental Health and Substance Use Health Services
The HealthLink BC Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) data set includes the following: Programs that offer early intervention, transitional care or other services that supplement and facilitate primary and adjunctive therapies; which offer community mental health education programs; or which link people who are in need of treatment with appropriate providers. Programs that provide preventive, diagnostic and treatment services in a variety of community and hospital-based settings to help people achieve, maintain and enhance a state of emotional well-being, personal empowerment and the skills to cope with everyday demands without excessive stress or reliance on alcohol or other drugs. Treatment may include emotional support, introspection and problem-solving assistance using a variety of modalities and approaches, and medication, as needed, for individuals who have a substance use disorder involving alcohol and/or other drugs or for people who range from experiencing difficult life transitions or problems in coping with daily living to those with severe, chronic mental illnesses that seriously impact their lives. Multidisciplinary programs, often offered on an inpatient basis with post-discharge outpatient therapy, that provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for individuals who have anorexia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, bulimia or a related eating disorder. Treatment depends on the specific type of eating disorder involved but typically involves psychotherapy, nutrition education, family counseling, medication and hospitalization, if required, to stabilize the patient's health. Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS) / 211 LA County taxonomy is the data classification used for all HealthLink BC directory data, including this MHSU data set (https://www.airs.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=1). Forest Development Units
The spatial representation of a Forest Stewardship Plan and Forest Development Units. A Forest Stewardship Plan is a plan submitted by a forest industry licensee stating how the BC Government's objectives for managing the province's forest resources will be met. It identifies the plan-holder's obligations for a five-year period. The Forest Development Unit is the spatially-mapped area of land within a Forest Stewardship Plan where specific forest practices obligations apply to specific forest licensees.
Coal Exploration Licenses - 50k
The administration of coal projects in the Yukon is governed under the Territorial Lands (Yukon) Act (TLYA) and the Coal Regulations enabled under the TLYA. The land use permits necessary for coal exploration and development are issued by the Energy Mines and Resources Lands Branch under the TLYA. The remaining coal licenses and coal leases are issued and administered by the Mineral Resources Branch Mining Lands offices.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
