This feature class represents Manitoba's Forest Management Licence (FML) boundaries.The Forest Act provides for the establishment of Forest Management Licences to provide a continuous supply of timber to the forest industry. A Forest Management Licence, granted for a period of not more than twenty years, may be renewed for further periods. The Forest Management Licence describes the land upon which trees may be cut, the volume of wood that may be harvested, and other terms and conditions. There are currently two Forest Management Licences in Manitoba, FML-2 and FML-3 . Timber management and forest renewal are the responsibilities of Manitoba Sustainable Government on Crown Forest Land outside of Forest Management Licence areas, and within Forest Management Licence areas where the wood is used by a facility other than that operated by the Forest Management Licensee. Version 3 of Manitoba's Forest Management Licence (FML) boundaries includes FML-2 and FML-3. Previous boundaries associated with FML-1 and IWSA's have been removed. To update and improve the positional accuracy of Manitoba's Forest Management Licence (FML) boundaries, written descriptions of FML areas were referenced along with linework from Forest Land Inventories (FLI), Forest Resource Inventories (FRI) and Manitoba's township fabric to improve Provincial FML boundaries. Boundary linework the following related geospatial datasets were topologically checked for coincident linework: Manitoba Provincial Boundary; Manitoba Forest Management Units ; Manitoba Forest Management Licence Agreement Areas; Manitoba Forest Sections; Manitoba Provincial Forests . The dataset contains the digital boundaries for significant discovery licences, production licences, drilled wells, major pipelines and the jurisdictional boundary of the area administered by the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator (CNSOER), as well as the inactive Georges Bank permits formerly administered by the Canada Oil and Gas Lands Administration (COGLA). All production facilities have been removed and active projects were fully abandoned and decommissioned by November 2020. As of January 2022 there are no active exploration licences.A significant discovery licence (SDL) may be issued for lands within a declared significant discovery area under the Accord Acts. The term of a significant discovery licence is indefinite and was designed to maintain an explorer's rights during the period between first discovery and eventual production. Significant discovery licence interest representatives in 2021 include BP Canada Energy Company, ExxonMobil Canada Ltd., ExxonMobil Canada Properties, Ovintiv Canada ULC, and Shell Canada Limited. Most of the SDLs predate the CNSOEB; they were issued at various times from 1980 to 1986 by COGLA before the Offshore Board existed. On January 5, 1990, they were all rolled into CNSOEB’s governance. The only exception is SDL 2702 which was issued June 6, 2007.A production licence (PL) gives interest holders the right to produce petroleum in an area which is subject to a declared commercial discovery. In order to be declared a commercial discovery, an operator must demonstrate that the discovery contains reserves that will justify the investment of capital and effort to bring the discovery to production. A production licence has a term of 25 years but may be extended if commercial production is continuing or is likely to recommence.Production licence interest representatives in 2021 include ExxonMobil Canada Ltd. and Ovintiv Canada ULC. Original data for wells drilled prior to 1990 was collected and maintained by the Geological Survey of Canada and COGLA. The offshore gas pipeline polyline dataset contains locations of major pipelines in the CNSOER's jurisdictional area, associated with petroleum production in offshore Nova Scotia. This file is considered to be approximate and is not an official record. Some pipeline coordinates are sourced from CAD documents (DXF), supplied by operators. Some were created using ArcMap, digitized from paper records. As of October 2021, all pipelines within this file have been fully flushed with sea water and abandoned.All shapefiles were transformed into the NAD83 datum using the NTv2 transformation.

The Registered Fur Management Area dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Registered Fur Management Areas in Alberta. A Registered Fur Management Area (RFMA) is a parcel of public land, the boundary of which is described on the Registered Fur Management Licence. If a Registered Fur Management Area is described by reference to a line, that area includes all land within 0.5 mile on each side of that line. A Registered Fur Management Licence permits the licence holder to hunt and trap fur-bearing animals on the lands described on the licence.

This is a spatial layer that reflects operational activities for harvesting authorities. The harvesting authority is a legal area cleared by the Ministry of Forests and Range (that is, no other claims for the land exist) for harvesting purposes. This corresponds to the outlined areas on the Exhibit A maps. The Forest Tenures Section (FTS) is responsible for the creation and maintenance of digital Forest Atlas files for the province of British Columbia encompassing Forest and Range Act Tenures. It also supports the forest resources programs delivered by the MoFR. Each feature contains a Ministry of Forests and Range (MoFR) FEATURE_CLASS_SKEY (number) column that further defines the type of that feature. The layer contains harvesting authority boundaries for the following feature classes: Christmas Tree Permit (489), Forest Licence Cutting Permit (556), Licence to Cut (615), Timber Licence Cutting Permit (811), Timber Sale Licence Major Cutting Permit (818), Timber Sale Licence Minor (819), Tree Farm Licence Cutting Permit (834), WoodLot Licence Cutting Permit (864), Timber Sale Licence Minor Cutting Permit (917), and Community Forest Cutting Permit (2401).
