Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Landmark Kilometre Inventory (LKI)
The Landmark Kilometre Inventory spatial layer is used primarily by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOT) to represent routes against which accident data and traffic counts are collected. This method describes roads by a four number designation referred to as a segment (i.e. 0375) This spatial layer was created based on Digital Road Atlas (DRA) centerline using linear referencing
Geotechnical report point
Geotechnical reports are indexed within a database maintained by HPW-TEB Geotechnical Unit. Meta data associated to each geotechnical report are captured within this indexing table, including report reference number, title, author, highway and km start and end. The table has been modified to include columns that aid in georeferencing geotechnical reports. Added columns include route ID, Latitude, and Longitude.Transportation Engineering Branch is continually improving its geographical information systems with a major focus on creating linear referencing routes within ArcGIS. Linear referencing and composite listing - Ontario highways
This data, also known as the Linear Highway Referencing System (LHRS), is used to locate events along the highway network. Three separate files make up the LHRS dataset: LHRS route is a spatial (GIS) representation of the highway network; LHRS Base Points divide the highway network into base sections with known driven distances; LHRS features points (composite listing) are additional described locations along the highway network. Manitoba Road Network 2022
Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure's road network, current to 2022.Created by Manitoba Infrastructure, the 2022 Manitoba Road Network comprises four years of updates.Previous exports were based on the now legacy Control Sections. In this updated road network, the department adapts an Advanced Linear Referencing System (ALRS) with an Linear Referencing Method based on routes. This new model was build from the control section geometry and then enhanced by adding updated northern roads geometry captured by GPS, as well as interchanges, right turn cutoffs, service roads, and other road alignments not previously captured in the legacy road network.Fields included [Alias (Field Name): Field description.] OBJECTID (OBJECTID): Sequential, unique whole numbers are automatically system generated. Route ID (RouteId): The route's identifier, an information rich key comprised of designation, route name, and route type. Route Designation (RteDesignation): The designated level of government responsible for the road. Route Name (RteName): The name of the route, including direction. Route Type (RteType): The type of route, e.g. PTH (Provincial Trunk Highway), PR (Provincial Road), Acess (Provincial Access Road) Road Number (Signed) (Road_Number_Signed): A highway number labelling field. Shape Length (Shape__Length): Length in meters automatically system generated.

Manitoba Road Network 2017
Highway Planning and Design's 2017 Manitoba Road Network.The 2017 Manitoba Road Network was created by Manitoba Infrastructure --> Highway Engineering--> Highway Planning and Design. The department’s linear referencing system (LRS) uses Control Sections as a linear referencing method (LRM). The LRM is the digital representation of the Highway Network in Manitoba. The features indicate highway number and highway identity. This data was corrected using 1:60,000 digital ortho aerial photography dated from 1991-1998. Linear features have been updated on a yearly basis using GPS data, CAD files and 50cm imagery from 2007-2014, and is considered accurate to two-to-seven metres. Please note that this feature layer primarily contains only the roads that Manitoba Infrastructure is responsible for, i.e. Provincial Trunk Highways, Provincial Roads and Access Roads. However, you may also see Earth Roads (under construction) or Other roads (such as those passing through national parks and are federal responsibility). A newer version of this data is available: Manitoba Road Network 2018. Field List - FIELD NAME (Field Alias (i.e. display name)) in parenthesis)OBJECTID (OBJECTID) - Sequential, unique whole numbers are automatically generated.SHAPE (SHAPE) - A field to hold geometry information. ID (ID) - Unique Identifier generated by Oracle.CS_ID (Control Section ID) - Non unique identifier linking segment to its respective control section.ROAD_NO_SIGNED (Road Number Signed) - The road number. The roads and linear features in this data set were compiled and interpreted in association with the Vegetation Inventory (1995-2006). It is a representation of various linear features on the land base. The linear features were classified by the interpreters based on the NTDB classification system for roads and trails, at that time.
