Fees Within Soil Zones
The Fees Within Soil Zones dataset is comprised of polygons representing the Soil Zones in Alberta that are used with Ministerial Order 49/2026 to allow users to determine public lands fees, rents and other charges for public lands dispositions.
BC Indigenous Business Listings
The BC Indigenous Business Listings dataset offers a brief summary of Indigenous businesses operating in the province. For each business listed in the dataset, information including the Indigenous owner(s) of the company, location, links to websites as well as primary contact information including email addresses and phone numbers is provided where available. This information is intended to facilitate connections between business owners and consumers, investors, and industry. It is also meant to support an understanding of ownership trends among Indigenous businesses.

Farm implement dealers, distributors and dealer/distributors in Ontario
This dataset contains a list of registered farm implement dealers, distributors and dealer/distributors in Ontario. Dealers offer farm implements or replacement parts for sale to the public while distributors sell, consign, or deliver farm implements or replacement parts to a dealer. Dealer/distributors carry out the function of both dealers and distributors. These dealers, distributors and dealer/distributors hold a valid registration under the [Farm Implements Act, 1990](https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90f04) from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA). The purpose of the Farm Implements Act is to improve farm machinery safety and to protect the large investments that farmers and dealers make in farm machinery. OMAFA encourages farmers and dealers to exercise caution before making investments in farm implements with a dealer or distributor who is not registered or located in Ontario. Registrations are renewed annually (expire December 31), and the list is updated annually. This list is maintained by OMAFA and includes company names, contact names and addresses.
Village
The Village dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Villages in Alberta. Village is a municipality type defined under the authority of the Municipal Government Act. The formation of a Village can occur when a majority of the buildings are on parcels of land smaller than 1850 square meters and there is a population of 300 or more.
MODIS annual landcover time series of Canada (19 classes)
Data include a collection of annual land cover maps derived from MODIS 250 m spatial resolution remotely sensed imagery for the period 2000 to 2011. Processing of the time series was designed to reduce the occurrence of false change between maps. The method was based on change updating as described in Pouliot et al. (2011, 2013). Change detection accounted for both abrupt changes such as forest harvesting and more gradual changes such as recurrent insect defoliation. To determine the new label for a pixel identified as change, an evidential reasoning approach was used to combine spectral and contextual information. The 2005 MODIS land cover of Canada at 250 m spatial resolution described in Latifovic et al. (2012) was used as the base map. It contains 39 land cover classes, which for time series development was considered too detailed and was reduced to 25 and 19 class versions. The 19 class version corresponds to the North America Land Change Monitoring System (NALCMS) Level 2 legend as described in Latifovic et al. (2012). Accuracy assessment of time series is difficult due to the need to assess many maps. For areas of change in the time series accuracy was found to be 70% based on the 19 class thematic legend. This time series captures the spatial distribution of dominant land cover transitions. It is intended for use in modeling, development of remote sensing products such as leaf area index or land cover based albedo retrievals, and other exploratory analysis. It is not appropriate for use in any rigorous reporting or inventory assessments due to the accuracy of the land cover classification and uncertainty as to the capture of all relevant changes for an application.

Stories from the land: Indigenous Place Names in Canada
This interactive map is a collaborative project by the Geographical Names Board of Canada, illustrating a curated selection of places in Canada with names that have origins in multiple Indigenous languages. The names selected show the history and evolution of Indigenous place naming in Canada, from derived and inaccurate usage, to names provided by Indigenous organisations. Many Indigenous place names convey stories, knowledge, and descriptions of the land. By celebrating these names through this map, the Geographical Names Board of Canada hopes to increase the awareness of existing Indigenous place names and help promote the revitalization of Indigenous cultures and languages. Many more Indigenous place names exist in Canada and will be added in future releases of this map. The content of this map is a compilation of information obtained from many current and historical sources. The Geographical Names Board of Canada does not warrant or guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current at all times. For more information, to report data errors, or to suggest improvements to this application, please contact the Geographical Names Board of Canada Secretariat.
Fees Within Urban Areas
The Fees Within Urban Areas dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Urban Municipalities (cities, towns, villages, and summer villages), Urban Service Areas, Bow Corridor and the Kananaskis Improvement District in Alberta. This dataset is used with Ministerial Order 49/2026 to allow users to determine public lands fees, rents and other charges for public lands dispositions.
