MetNotes are a geo- and time-referenced, free form polygon product issued by MSC that complement today's location-based dissemination systems. The concise text of a MetNote (similar to a Tweet) is consistent with communication today where people are seeking information at a glance. Meteorologists will issue a MetNote to add contextual and/or impact information to complement the public forecast that is valid over a specific area, for a specific time range.

The Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Unit dataset is comprised of the polygons representing Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Units in Alberta. Alberta Public Safety and Emergency Services, Government of Alberta, manages the Fish and Wildlife enforcement services to provide the public and other government departments' information regarding the locations of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Units throughout the province.

This dataset is used is used to determine the significance or status of wetland classes and certain other natural heritage features. It is also used to set targets for Wilderness Class Provincial parks, State of the Forest reporting and to study natural disturbance regimes.

This database aggregates basic information on orphaned and abandoned mine sites from participating Canadian jurisdictions, including their name, location, jurisdiciton, and the commodity that was mined. It was originally created in 2012 through the National Orphaned/Abandoned Mines Initiative and has undergone several updates since that time. Data on sites in each jurisdiction is owned and maintained by that jurisdiction. The database includes links to the corresponding records in that jursidiction. While the database includes common informaiton about all sites, there may be discrepancies in the types of data provided about sites in different jurisdictions and data from some jurisdictions may be updated more frequently than others.

Hydro Features is composed of the network of Canadian surface waters. Hydro Features entities are: Watercourse, Water Linear Flow, Hydro Obstacle (falls, rapids\...), Waterbody (lake, watercourse\...), Permanent Snow and Ice, Water Well, and Spring. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. This 1:20,000. scale inventory contains digital maps of cancelled community watershed boundaries. The watershed boundaries showed the location of watersheds that supply communities with domestic water. These are meant to be used in conjunction with stream network map coverages from TRIM mapping. Attribute data for community watersheds can be downloaded into a spreadsheet or database

The Ontario Dam Inventory (ODI) is an inventory of medium and large dams throughout Ontario. It uses a point-based system (x, y location) to identify each dam location. The ODI does not contain: * small dams * small water control structures * beaver dams * water crossings * road embankments * locks * falls * rapids * culverts Each dam location has an identifier that can be used to link to other dam information databases.

A compendium of reports that provide information about aquatic and terrestrial animals and plants, soils, surface water, groundwater and their accompanying data files and maps

These data consist of the Recreational Shark Fishing Tournament landings database (1993-2022 inclusive) and the Canadian Dart tag database (2006 onwards; updated annually). Both were collected by the Maritimes Science Division of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The landings records include biological sampling from 4266 animals and the dart tag records include 4138 tagging and 97 recapture events to date. Potential users should consult Bowlby et al. (2022) for the description, management history, and technical details pertaining to these data.
