Piezometric Surface, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Level below which soil or rock is saturated with water, in the well and at the time the level has been measured, expressed in m above the sea level. Groundwater levels measured are interpolated / extrapolated to obtain groundwater level on every cell of the hydrogeological unit raster. Surfer and ArcGis are the software usually used to create groundwater level raster. The dataset designates a raster with a groundwater level, for each cell of the hydrogeological unit.

North America Surface Water Values
The North America Surface Water Values point dataset contains the current water level and stream flow values as recorded by Canadian and USA hydrometric gauging station locations. Daily values are recorded as well as comparisons with historical measurements, including difference in values from the previous day, the mean level for that calendar date, the annual mean water level, and maximum and minumum recorded levels. Canadian Extreme Water Level Adaptation Tool (CAN-EWLAT)
Extreme water level along the marine coastline is a result of a combination of storm surge, tides, and ocean waves. Future projections of climate change in the marine environment indicate that rising sea level and declining sea ice will cause changes in extreme water levels, which will impact Canada's coastlines and the infrastructure in these areas. Understanding these changes is essential for developing adaptation strategies that can minimize the harmful effects that may result.CAN-EWLAT is a science-based planning tool for climate change adaptation of coastal infrastructure related to future water-level extremes and changes in wave climate. The tool includes two main components: 1) vertical allowance and 2) wave climate. CAN-EWLAT was developed primarily for DFO Small Craft Harbours (SCH) locations, but it should prove useful for coastal planners dealing with infrastructure along Canada’s ocean coastlines.Cite this data as: Greenan B. Groundwater Level, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Level below which soil or rock is saturated with water, in the well and at the time the level has been measured, expressed in m above the sea level. Groundwater depth is measured on the field, using a water level meters. The depth is then subtracted from the elevation of the measurement site to obtain the water level elevation. The dataset is a general description of the measurement site including location and well elevation. It features a series of points of the surface elevation of the groundwater body.
Areas for the protection of municipal drinking water withdrawals
These thematic layers present the location of the protection areas of category 1 water withdrawal sites as defined in article 51 of the Water Withdrawal and Protection Regulation (RPEP). For groundwater withdrawals, protection areas and their vulnerability levels are determined according to the requirements of articles 53, 54, 57 and 65 of the RPEP. The areas for the protection of surface water withdrawals are determined according to the requirements of articles 70, 72 and 74 of the RPEP.The protection areas and vulnerability levels were compiled by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks (MELCCFP) based on vulnerability analysis reports that were produced by municipalities under articles 68 and 75 of the RPEP.
