Tribal Councils Location
A tribal council is a grouping of First Nations with common interests who voluntarily joined together to provide services to member First Nations. The tribal council geographic location dataset contains the geographic location of all tribal councils in Canada as points as well as basic attributes data. Each tribal council point represents its address as it is registered in Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) Indian Government Support System (IGSS). A connection with the IGSS is in place to ensure that any update to the system is reflected in the attributes data associated with the geography of each tribal council. This dataset is Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) official source for Tribal Councils geographic location on maps.

Indigenous Geographical Names
The Indigenous Geographical Names dataset presents an extract from the Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) of geographical names with roots in Indigenous cultures. These geographical names reflect heritage, language, personal names, and cultural practices. Terrain and water features, populated places and culturally relevant places are geographical feature types present in the dataset. The Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) is working to increase awareness of existing Indigenous place names and help promote the revitalization of Indigenous cultures and languages. Many more Indigenous place names exist in Canada, and this dataset will be constantly evolving as additional Indigenous place names are officially recognized and identified. The Geographical Names Board of Canada does not warrant or guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current at all times. For more information, to report data errors, or to suggest improvements, please contact the GNBC Secretariat at Natural Resources Canada with questions or for more information. The CGNDB is the authoritative national database of Canada's geographical names. The purpose of the CGNDB is to store geographical names and their attributes that have been approved by the GNBC, the national coordinating body responsible for standards and policies on place names. This dataset is extracted from the CGNDB on a weekly basis, and consists of current officially approved names, feature type, coordinates of the feature, decision date, source, Indigenous language of origin where known, and other attributes.
FADM - Region Compartment
The spatial representation for an Inventory Region or Compartment. Established by the Resource Inventory Branch, Inventory Regions are large drainages encompassing groups of small drainages also known as compartments. FERRYSEG OFFICIAL
FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL provides the information about the Ferry Connection Segments. Ferry Connection Segment is the specific representation of a portion of a ferry connection with uniform characteristics. FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL is one of the base layer used to create "Ferryseg" layer for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). This data layer has been created for mainly MHI data users, that require relatively up-to-date and accurate description of all ferry routes in the Province of Saskatchewan.FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL consists of the data for the average route a ferryboat takes when transporting vehicles between two fixed locations on the Road Network. "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users. FERRYSEG_OFFICIAL data layer serves as a foundation for SURN, NRN, SASK911 and other applications.

Geographic Township Improved
A Township is a land subdivision in Ontario. This information was captured through the Ontario Base Mapping Program, is maintained by the Ministry of Natural Resources and distributed through Geospatial Ontario (GEO) Warehouse. The spatial accuracy for some of the townships was improved through the Ontario Parcel, Township Realignment and Township Improvement projects. Improvements may include: * road allowance widths * spatial changes to better represent where the township boundaries are located * more consistent concession names Materials used to improve the location of township lines may include: * township Improvement plots * survey information i.e. retracements * original township plans * surveys notes * the physical features e.g. fence lines in the corporate editing environment * water bodies * GPS Ontario Road Network geometry This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
