Outfitting Concessions - 250k
Outfitting Concessions (OCs) which are also known as Outfitting Areas, are legal boundaries that define an area where the holder of the concession has the exclusive right to outfit non-residents for the purpose of hunting big game animals (excepting special guiding licenses). If a non-resident wishes to hunt in the Yukon they must do so accompanied by a Yukon resident\--either a private individual who does this for free, or a commercial operator who does this as a business(an outfitter). Each outfitter is licensed to operate within a particular OA. There are 20 such concessions in the Yukon\--one per licensed outfitter. OCs are largely (but not always) defined by groupings of Game Management Areas. There are several areas within the Yukon (exclusive of National Parks) which are not covered by OCs. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) as the digitizing base.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Crown grants - 50k
In and around the early 1900s, the Government of Canada used Crown grants to issue interests in land.If a Crown grant includes rights to mines and minerals, including quartz, in the location of the grant, quartz claims cannot be staked over the location of that Crown grant. If the Crown grant included both placer and quartz rights then neither type of claim can be staked over the Crown grant. This data represents the location of crown grants in the Yukon.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Mineral Tenure in Nunavut - Mining Leases
* This dataset is updated on a daily basis. The ‘Record Modified’ date refers to the last metadata update. This dataset contains the extent of mineral leases in Nunavut. A mineral lease is a mineral claim that has been surveyed by a Canada Lands Surveyor. A mineral lease can be applied for after an exploration prospecting company has done a minimum of representation work in the claim area and if a legal survey on the claim has been recorded. A mineral lease is required for disposal or sale of minerals or of a gross value of more than $100,000 in one year. For more information, visit https://www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca/eng/1100100036000/1547749889500. Note: This is one of the four (4) datasets that describe mineral tenure in Nunavut. It includes mineral claims, mining leases, prospecting permits as well as coal exploration licences.
Lot fabric improved
The spatial accuracy of the lot fabric for some townships has been improved through the Ontario Parcel, Township Realignment and Township Improvement projects. Improvements to the fabric may include: * road allowance widths * spatial changes to better represent the location of lot boundaries * more consistent concession names. Data is collected on an on-going basis. The time period "end date" may be more recent than indicated here.
Trapping Concessions - 250k
Registered Trapping Concessions (RTCs) are legal boundaries that define an area where the holder of the concession has the exclusive right to trap furbearing animals. Because trapping is done primarily along waterways, RTCs are often defined by watersheds, using height of land (ridges and mountain peaks) as their boundaries. This is the opposite of GMAs which are defined by mountains. Sometimes RTCs are grouped together to form a Group Trapping Concession (in which groups of individual share the right to trap). This may or may not involve the elimination of the component RTC boundaries. The Yukon has 360 RTCs and 13 Group Trapping Concessions. Only Kluane National Park, Kluane Wildlife Sanctuary, and Ddhaw Ghro Habitat Protection are are not covered by RTCs. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) as the digitizing base.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Mineral Tenure in Nunavut - Prospecting Permits
* This dataset is updated on a daily basis. The ‘Record Modified’ date refers to the last metadata update. This dataset contains the extent of prospecting permits in Nunavut. A prospecting permit allows prospecting in a large area without competition for a period of three or five years, and gives the holder the exclusive rights to select a mineral claim within that area. For more information, visit https://www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca/eng/1100100036000/1547749889500.Note: This is one of the four (4) datasets that describe mineral tenure in Nunavut. It includes mineral claims, mining leases, prospecting permits as well as coal exploration licences.
Mineral claim adjoining parcels - 50k
When the tenure data differs from the actual post locations on the ground, we use adjoining parcels to show that the area has no open ground.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Geographic Township Improved
A Township is a land subdivision in Ontario. This information was captured through the Ontario Base Mapping Program, is maintained by the Ministry of Natural Resources and distributed through Geospatial Ontario (GEO) Warehouse. The spatial accuracy for some of the townships was improved through the Ontario Parcel, Township Realignment and Township Improvement projects. Improvements may include: * road allowance widths * spatial changes to better represent where the township boundaries are located * more consistent concession names Materials used to improve the location of township lines may include: * township Improvement plots * survey information i.e. retracements * original township plans * surveys notes * the physical features e.g. fence lines in the corporate editing environment * water bodies * GPS Ontario Road Network geometry This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Placer claims - 50k
A placer claim is a parcel of land located or granted for placer mining. A claim also includes any ditches or water rights used for mining the claim and all other things belonging to or used in the working of the claim for mining purposes. A placer claim is a rectangular plot of ground. All angles of a claim must be right angles, except in the case where a boundary line of a previously located claim is adopted as common to both locations. The length of a regular placer claim from post one to post two is 500 feet along a baseline. Co-discovery claims must not exceed 1250 feet each and single discovery claims must not exceed 1500 feet.Distributed from the [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) digital map data collection by [Yukon government](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
