The Lands Officer Region dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Forestry and Parks Lands Officer Regions within the Province of Alberta.

These boundaries are kept for historic purposes only. The Environment and Sustainable Resource Development Operations Regions dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the operations regions established for the Ministry of Environment and Parks to provide environmentally responsible services and management of the province's sustainable resources. Environment and Sustainable Resource Development Operations Regions were approved and effective May 29, 2013. These regions were made obsolete when the Ministry of Environment and Parks split into the Ministry of Forestry and Parks and the Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas.

This dataset contains region boundaries which divide the province of Alberta into broad areas of operational administration, with respect to Parks Operations Division responsibilities on parks and protected areas administered by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas. Parks Operations Division Districts nest within Management Areas, which in turn nest within Parks Operations Division Regions. These boundaries are administrative/operational in nature, and are subject to change.

PCS Regions contains the boundaries of park regions for the administration and management purposes of provincial parks, recreation sites, protected areas, and historic sites by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports - Parks Division.PCS Regions contains the topologically corrected boundaries of park regions. These were determined based on the location and number of provincial parks, recreation sites, protected areas, and historic sites and drawn using imagery for administration and management purposes by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports - Parks Division. These boundaries outline the area for which a Regional Director is responsible, jointly with a number of Park Managers. This dataset is current as of Apr 27, 2023.Updates: Corrected topology errors to remove gaps and overlaps within itself and against the ADMINISTRATIVE.provincial_boundary feature class (ED220908). Polyline feature layer of winter trails in Manitoba provincial parks.This feature layer contains polylines showing locations of winter trails in Manitoba provincial parks. Winter trails are those trails designated for certain winter activities, such as cross-country skiing, skijoring, skate-skiing, fat biking, and dog sledding. Most of these trails are groomed by Manitoba Parks staff throughout the season. This layer is used in the interactive map Manitoba Parks - Winter Activity Trails Map and the web app Manitoba Parks - Winter Trails and Recreation Areas. The dataset includes the following fields (Alias (Name): Description) Trail Name (Trail_Name): Name of the trail Park Name (Park_Name): Name of the provincial park where the trail is located Winter Use (Winter_Use): Indicates whether or not the trail is designated for winter use (Note: All features in this layer have a value of 'Yes') For more information about winter activities, visit the Manitoba Parks website.

Management Areas in turn nest within Parks Operations Division Regions. These boundaries are administrative/operational in nature, and are subject to change.

The purpose of this feature class is to show areas that are National Parks (NPs), National Park Reserves (NPRs) and National Marine Conservation Area (NMCAs). Parks Canada manages more than 43 NPs.
