The National Hydro Network (NHN) focuses on providing a quality geometric description and a set of basic attributes describing Canada's inland surface waters. It provides geospatial digital data compliant with the NHN Standard such as lakes, reservoirs, watercourses (rivers and streams), canals, islands, drainage linear network, toponyms or geographical names, constructions and obstacles related to surface waters, etc. The best available federal and provincial data are used for its production, which is done jointly by the federal and interested provincial and territorial partners. The NHN is created from existing data at the 1:50 000 scale or better. The NHN data have a great potential for analysis, cartographic representation and display and will serve as base data in many applications. The NHN Work Unit Limits were created based on Water Survey of Canada Sub-Sub-Drainage Area.

The Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife areas in Alberta. Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife is area designated for the protection of wildlife within 400 yards corridors of various road centre-lines.

This dataset is a collaborative project by Natural Resources Canada and the federal, provincial and territorial members of the Geographical Names Board of Canada, illustrating a curated selection of official geographical names in Canada that have changed over time. The selection comes from the Canadian Geographical Names Database, displaying additional information including the previous name(s) of each feature, the year and the reason why the names changed along with a short history of each name change.

RAILLINE_OFFICIAL is one of the important layers for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). The RAILLINE_OFFICIAL provides the information of Railine to clients that require accurate, relatively up-to-date and detailed description of Saskatchewan Railline Network.RAILLINE_OFFICIAL data layer was developed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways & infrastructure and contains the OFFICIAL version of the rail lines network in the province. RAILLINE_OFFICIAL layer has the linear geomtry of the CN, CP and provincial/shortline rail line in Saskatchewan. This version of the network is the one used for mapping, querying and plotting.

Manitoba's Provincial Forest Boundaries (version 6): There are currently 15 provincial forests totalling almost 22,000 km2. Attributes include the name of the provincial forest, the year it was established and its area. Manitoba's provincial forests reserve certain areas in the province for perpetual growth of timber, preserve the forest cover thereon and provide for a reasonable use of all the resources that the forest lands contain. All Crown lands within a provincial forest are withdrawn from disposition, sale, settlement or occupancy, except under authority of the Forest Act . Before the Province of Manitoba was established, European settlers were promised 160 acres of free land if they lived on it and cleared it for agriculture. As a result, farms began replacing our southern forests. The federal government decided they must retain some forests for building material. In 1885 , they established Turtle Mountain, Spruce Woods and Riding Mountain (now a national park) as timber reserves. Duck Mountain and Porcupine Mountain followed in 1906. What started out as federal timber reserves 100 years ago have become our provincial forests of today. Manitoba has 15 provincial forests , totalling almost 22,000 sq. km . These forests are among the highest quality timber stands in the province. Today, our provincial forests are much more than reserves for timber. They are also places for wildlife, recreation and research. Control of Manitoba's forests was transferred from the federal to the provincial governments in 1930. The JUNCTION_OFFICIAL provides the information of road intersections to clients that require accurate, relatively up-to-date and detailed description of Saskatchewan Road Network.JUNCTION_OFFICIAL, A point has been generated at the intersection of three or more road segments, Ferry connection, National/Provincial/Territory boundary and at the dead end of the road. JUNCTION_OFFICIAL contains all the road intersection points in the Saskatchewan. JUNCTION_OFFICIAL is an important part of the Saskatchewan road network dataset. Each point geometry "JUNCTION" has unique Identifiers (NID). "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users.

The purposes of this system are defined in The Provincial Parks Act. All provincial parks in Manitoba are classified according to the purpose and management of the park. There are five classifications defined under The Provincial Parks Act. 1.         WILDERNESS PARKS Wilderness parks contribute to the provincial network of protected areas by preserving representative areas of an ecoregion. Discussions with and support from local communities are crucial in the establishment of new wilderness parks and in ensuring that these remote areas continue to be protected into the future. 2.         NATURAL PARKS The main purpose of a natural park is both to preserve areas of an ecoregion and to accommodate a diversity of recreational opportunities and resource uses. Natural parks minimize land available for resource extraction and, to the greatest extent possible, contribute to the provincial network of protected areas and provide outdoor recreational and educational experiences in a natural setting. 3.         INDIGENOUS TRADITIONAL USE PARKS The main purpose of an Indigenous traditional use park is to preserve land that has been traditionally used by Indigenous Peoples and that is significant to Indigenous Peoples because of its natural features or cultural importance. The establishment of new Indigenous traditional use parks is based upon proposals put forward by Indigenous Peoples and the significance of these sites as traditional use areas. 4.         RECREATION PARKS Recreation parks provide outdoor recreation opportunities in a natural setting. The establishment of new recreation parks is based on an assessment of recreational needs, economic viability and existing community services. 5.         HERITAGE PARKS Heritage parks preserve unique and representative cultural and heritage resources of outstanding provincial significance. Partnerships with heritage groups and communities are essential to the creation of heritage parks. PARK RESERVES To assist in the creation of new parks and protected areas, The Provincial Parks Act also provides for the establishment of park reserves. The park reserve status provides for interim protection of areas under consideration. Areas selected for designation could ultimately become provincial parks or be placed under another appropriate designation, such as an ecological reserve. Provincial Electoral Divisions (PEDs) are territorial units represented by an elected Member to serve in the Alberta Provincial Legislative Assembly. The Provincial Electoral Divisions used in this information product were enacted in December 2017 and came into effect for the 2019 provincial general election.
