Water samples authorized by the MELCCFP
This thematic layer shows the location of water sampling sites authorized in Quebec under section 22 of the Environment Quality Act (chapter Q-2) and their associated volume (liter per day). Water sampling sites are the sites where water enters a facility designed to take water, both underground and surface. The database includes active authorizations to take water since the Water Withdrawal and Protection Regulation (RPEP) came into force on August 14, 2014.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
RSQAQ - Hourly Air Quality Index (real time)
Results of the last hour available, in real time, of the [Air Quality Index (AQI)] (https://www.iqa.environnement.gouv.qc.ca/contenu/index.asp) for the stations of the [Quebec Air Quality Monitoring Network] (https://www.environnement.gouv.qc.ca/air/reseau-surveillance/Carte.asp). These results exclude those from stations located on [Montreal Island] (https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/dataset/vmtl-rsqa-indice-qualite-air).The IQA is an information and awareness tool designed to inform the population about the quality of ambient air in Quebec. If you have any questions about this data, contact the Info-Air department:.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Lakes, Rivers and Glaciers in Canada - CanVec Series - Hydrographic Features
The hydrographic features of the CanVec series include watercourses, water linear flow segments, hydrographic obstacles (falls, rapids, etc.), waterbodies (lakes, watercourses, etc.), permanent snow and ice features, water wells and springs. The Hydrographic features theme provides quality vector geospatial data (current, accurate, and consistent) of Canadian hydrographic phenomena. It aims to offer a geometric description and a set of basic attributes on hydrographic features that comply with international geomatics standards, seamlessly across Canada. The CanVec multiscale series is available as prepackaged downloadable files and by user-defined extent via a Geospatial data extraction tool.Related Products (Open Maps Links):[Topographic Data of Canada - CanVec Series](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8ba2aa2a-7bb9-4448-b4d7-f164409fe056)

Historical Ambient Air Quality Validated - Regina
The Ministry of Environment operates a network of continuous ambient air monitoring stations to measure the concentration of air pollutants across Saskatchewan. This is considered validated data that has undergone quality control and quality assurance. For best results download the entire dataset without filtering as a CSV. ‘Date and time’ as displayed is your local time. However, downloaded data is in UTC for ‘Date and time’. Any values of -9999, -999, or 9980 are invalid data.Download zip file. The Ministry of Environment operates a network of continuous ambient air monitoring stations. These stations are part of the National Air Pollution Surveillance (NAPS) network. Continuous ambient air monitoring stations measure the concentration of air pollutants across Saskatchewan. The data is used to: • track and report on progress for achieving air quality objectives • measure representative pollutant concentrations and determine long-term trends and • provide air quality information to the public Air pollutants typically come from various industrial activity and natural sources, such as mining, oil and gas, agriculture, forest fires, electrical generation, and the transportation sector. Disclaimer: Hourly data from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment monitoring stations is validated and updated every quarter. This is the most up-to-date and accurate information available. A final annual review occurs in spring where data are subject to change. For more information please visit the ministry's Air Quality Monitoring page or contact the Ministry of Environment Inquiry Centre: centre.inquiry@gov.sk.ca 1-800-567-4224
Median surface water hardnesses
This thematic layer represents the characterization of the hardness of surface water in Quebec. The hardness is presented according to the medians calculated from the concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions in seven classes. Water hardness influences the toxicity of certain metals, including barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, manganese, nickel, nickel, lead, and zinc. Surface water quality criteria are determined according to the hardness of the receiving watercourse. These criteria are used to make judgments about surface water quality and are the basis for groundwater criteria used to assess the quality of groundwater that recurs as surface water. Finally, they are the key element in calculating environmental discharge objectives (EORs) used to assess the quality of wastewater discharges to the aquatic environment. For a discharge that occurs on an annual basis, the median hardness of the receiving water body is generally used to calculate water quality criteria for aquatic life.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Watercourse and Wetland Buffers
Buffer zones surrounding mapped watercourses and wetlands where forest activity is regulated on Crown land to maintain water quality and aquatic habitat.
Bacteriological and physicochemical quality of streams and inland water bodies (RUISSO) of the aquatic environment monitoring network (RSMA)
Data from the RUISSO program, bacteriological and physicochemical quality of streams and inland water bodies in the Montreal agglomeration, from the Aquatic Environment Monitoring Network. An [interactive map] (https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/38d7c7bb43da4e2082aa836689d0d318/) is also available.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Tides and Water Levels
Canadian tides and water level station information, benchmarks, observed water level data, and tidal predictions. The Canadian tide and water level data archive presently holds water level observations reported from over a thousand stations, with the earliest dating back to 1848. The number of observations spans on average 6 years per station, with 60 stations measuring water levels for over 50 years.Over 800 stations are subjected to appreciable effect of tides, and for most of these stations, the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) calculates and publishes predictions of the water levels associated with the vertical movement of the tide.Observations from the CHS Permanent Water Level Network are added on a daily to monthly basis. Data are also exchanged annually with the Water Survey of Canada. Each point in the map represents a station with links to observations, tidal predictions, and benchmark information, where available.
