Waterbodies - 250k - Canvec
Hydro Features is composed of the network of Canadian surface waters. Hydro Features entities are: Watercourse, Water Linear Flow, Hydro Obstacle (falls, rapids\...), Waterbody (lake, watercourse\...), Permanent Snow and Ice, Water Well, and Spring. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. CanVec is a multi-source product coming mainly from the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), the Mapping the North process conducted by the Canada Center for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), the Atlas of Canada data, the GeoBase initiative, and the data update using satellite imagery coverage (e.g. Landsat 7, Spot, Radarsat, etc.).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Ontario Dam Inventory
The Ontario Dam Inventory (ODI) is an inventory of medium and large dams throughout Ontario. It uses a point-based system (x, y location) to identify each dam location. The ODI does not contain: * small dams * small water control structures * beaver dams * water crossings * road embankments * locks * falls * rapids * culverts Each dam location has an identifier that can be used to link to other dam information databases.
Lakes, Rivers and Glaciers in Canada - CanVec Series - Hydrographic Features
The hydrographic features of the CanVec series include watercourses, water linear flow segments, hydrographic obstacles (falls, rapids, etc.), waterbodies (lakes, watercourses, etc.), permanent snow and ice features, water wells and springs. The Hydrographic features theme provides quality vector geospatial data (current, accurate, and consistent) of Canadian hydrographic phenomena. It aims to offer a geometric description and a set of basic attributes on hydrographic features that comply with international geomatics standards, seamlessly across Canada. The CanVec multiscale series is available as prepackaged downloadable files and by user-defined extent via a Geospatial data extraction tool.Related Products (Open Maps Links):[Topographic Data of Canada - CanVec Series](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8ba2aa2a-7bb9-4448-b4d7-f164409fe056)
Ontario Hydro Network - Hydrographic Poly
A feature is a representation of a real world object, such as a lake, stream, dam or rapid. There are three hydrographic feature classes: points, lines and polys. All may impede or be hazardous to waterflow and/or navigation on a watercourse or waterbody. This data shows natural and manmade poly features. Examples include: * break walls * dams * rapids * shipwrecks [Technical Bulletin: Data migrated to new Ontario Hydro Network (OHN) - Hydrographic Feature Data Classes (PDF)](http://geo2.scholarsportal.info/proxy.html?http:__maps.scholarsportal.info/files/PDFS/public/OGDE/OHN/TB-OHN-PostMigration_101112.pdf)
Ontario Hydro Network - Hydrographic Point
A feature is a representation of a real world object, such as a lake, stream, dam or rapid. There are three hydrographic feature classes: points, lines and polys. All may impede or be hazardous to waterflow and/or navigation on a watercourse or waterbody. This data shows natural and manmade point features. Examples include: * waterfalls * rapids * rocks * Sea Lamprey barriers * shipwrecks This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software. Lac-Mégantic accident: satellite images after the incident
On July 6, 2013, a train of 72 cars carrying 100 tons of crude oil each exploded in Lac-Mégantic. Images from the Pléiades and KompSat 3A satellites were acquired in order to follow the field work during the recovery phase. These optical images at 50 cm resolution were acquired for the following dates: July 13, July 29, 2014, July 2, August 2, August, August 15, August, August 24, 2013, September 30, 2013, November 4, 2013, November 3, 2013, July 2, 2014, July 2, 2014, July 2, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, October 12, 2014, 2014, Purpose: These optical images from the Pléiades-1A or Pléiades-1B or KompSat 3A satellites make it possible to see the evolution of recovery work in downtown Lac-Mégantic, near the site of the accident that occurred on July 6, 2013.These images were also used to develop a Rapid Information Products and Services Project (PSIR/RIPS) by the Canadian Space Agency in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety, Public Safety Canada and MDA**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
