The Inuit Regions, also known as the Inuit Nunangat, dataset contains the geographical boundaries of the 4 Inuit Regions in Canada: Inuvialuit, Nunavut, Nunavik and Nunatsiavut. The boundaries, land only, have been drawn as per information defined in each land claim agreement. A tribal council is a grouping of First Nations with common interests who voluntarily joined together to provide services to member First Nations.The tribal council geographic location dataset contains the geographic location of all tribal councils in Canada as points as well as basic attributes data. Each tribal council point represents its address as it is registered in Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) Indian Government Support System (IGSS). A connection with the IGSS is in place to ensure that any update to the system is reflected in the attributes data associated with the geography of each tribal council. This dataset is Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) official source for Tribal Councils geographic location on maps.
First Nations Location
The First Nations geographic location dataset contains the geographic location of First Nations (groups and subgroups) in Canada as points as well as basic attributes data. The location identifies where the First Nations live. Each First Nation point represents its administrative office address as it is registered in Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Band Governance Management System (BGMS). When the First Nation administrative office is located outside its associated most populated reserve boundary, adjustments are made to relocate the point within its boundaries, otherwise within the boundaries of another associated reserve or the city where the administrative office is located. When the administrative office or the First Nation is impossible to locate, the location is based on the best available information on the First Nation (e.g. official First Nation Web site). Innu Audio Index
The Innu Audio Index is an extract from the Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) of geographical names with associated audio. The shared audio with the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) is the intellectual property of the Innu Nation. The points represent official geographical names in Innu-aimun, the language of the Innu Nation. The CGNDB is the authoritative national database of Canada's geographical names. It contains geographical names and their attributes that have been approved by the GNBC, the national coordinating body responsible for standards and policies on place names.The GNBC is working to increase awareness of existing Indigenous place names and help promote the revitalization of Indigenous cultures and languages. The GNBC does not warrant or guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current at all times. The JUNCTION_OFFICIAL provides the information of road intersections to clients that require accurate, relatively up-to-date and detailed description of Saskatchewan Road Network.JUNCTION_OFFICIAL, A point has been generated at the intersection of three or more road segments, Ferry connection, National/Provincial/Territory boundary and at the dead end of the road. JUNCTION_OFFICIAL contains all the road intersection points in the Saskatchewan. JUNCTION_OFFICIAL is an important part of the Saskatchewan road network dataset. Each point geometry "JUNCTION" has unique Identifiers (NID). "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users.
