Local and Regional Greenspaces
This dataset contains spatial and attribute information for local and regional greenspaces in British Columbia. Local and regional greenspaces are municipal or regional district lands designated by local government agencies and managed for public enjoyment, ecosystem or wildlife values. Spatial boundaries were sourced from municipal and regional district web sites, which in some cases provide datasets under Open Government Licence, and in other cases, publicize parks and greenspaces on web maps or pdf maps. Boundaries were edge-matched to the ParcelMap BC cadastre. This spatial layer contains multipart polygons.
Ministry of Natural Resources District
Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) regions are divided into districts - smaller organizational units - to help manage ministry programs and resources. Extents of the districts were originally compiled by description of: metes and bounds, topographic features, geographic township boundaries, territorial district boundaries, etc. Changes to the extent of the districts have been made over time by MNR district offices. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Electoral Areas - Legally Defined Administrative Areas of BC
Legally defined __Electoral Area__ polygons were drawn from metes and bounds descriptions as written in Letters Patent for Regional District Electoral Areas in the province of British Columbia. In the event of a discrepancy in the data, the metes and bounds description will prevail. Although the boundaries were drawn based on the legal metes and bounds descriptions, they may differ from how regional districts and their member municipalities and electoral areas currently view and/or manage their boundaries. Where discrepancies are noted, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (the custodian) enters into discussion with the local governments whose boundaries are affected. In order to effect a change to the boundary, Cabinet approval is required. This is done through an Order in Council (OIC). While discrepancies to administrative boundaries are being resolved, boundaries may be adjusted on an ongoing basis until the requested changes are completed. The OIC_YEAR and OIC_NUMBER fields indicate the year that the boundary was passed under OIC and its associated number. The AFFECTED_ADMIN_AREA_ABRVN identifies the administrative areas that are affected by the OIC. A polygon dataset that includes all of the administrative areas currently in the __Administrative Boundaries Management System (ABMS)__ is available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc). A complimentary point dataset that defines the administrative areas is also available available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc-boundary-locations). Regional Districts - Legally Defined Administrative Areas of BC
Legally defined __Regional District__ polygons were drawn from metes and bounds descriptions as written in Letters Patent for Regional Districts in the province of British Columbia. In the event of a discrepancy in the data, the metes and bounds description will prevail. Although the boundaries were drawn based on the legal metes and bounds descriptions, they may differ from how regional districts and their member municipalities and electoral areas currently view and/or manage their boundaries. The OIC_YEAR and OIC_NUMBER fields indicate the year that the boundary was passed under OIC and its associated number. The AFFECTED_ADMIN_AREA_ABRVN identifies the administrative areas that are affected by the OIC. Please note that the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality appears to be a gap in the Regional District layer, but it is a municipality and can be found in the [Municipalities Layer](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/municipalities-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc). Emerald Ash Borer Regulated Areas
This dataset represents city, county, district, district municipality, municipality, regional municipality, town, township, and united county boundaries for the Emerald Ash Borer regulated areas of Canada.File naming convention:Three-letter Pest's scientific name + Geographic Area Abbreviation + Layer Content Abbreviation + Region. Example: aplCANregr == apl (Agrilus planipennis) + CAN (Canada) + reg (Regulated) + r (Region).
Ministry of Natural Resources area, district and region administrative boundaries (1997-2022)
This data represents the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) administrative boundaries from 1997-2022. Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) administrative areas divide Ontario into smaller organizational units. These units were used to manage ministry programs and resources at a district and regional level. Regional and district boundaries were originally created based on: * metes and bounds * topographic features * geographic townships boundaries * territorial district boundaries We made changes to district boundaries over time. We are no longer updating this data. It is best suited for historical research and analysis. __MNR regions__ MNR regions were created to help manage ministry programs and resources at a regional level. Regions consist of several districts. __MNR districts__ MNR regions were divided into smaller organizational units called districts. __MNR areas__ MNR districts were further divided into areas.
Ministry of Natural Resources Region
Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) regions were created to help manage ministry programs and resources at a regional level. Extents of the regions were originally compiled by description of: metes and bounds, topographic features, geographic township boundaries, territorial district boundaries, etc. MNR regions consist of a number of districts. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Aggregate Inspector Jurisdiction
This spatial dataset represents the boundaries of the areas of responsibility for aggregate inspectors working on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. In southern Ontario, inspectors may use various criteria to determine their area of responsibility, including: * geographic township boundaries * the number of licences and permits in a given area * geographic size In northern Ontario, areas of responsibility generally follow MNRF district boundaries. Use our interactive [Pits and Quarries map](https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-pits-and-quarries) to learn more about active aggregate sites and designated areas.
Manitoba Health Districts
RHA Districts are geographic areas that are used to define populations and catchment areas for the administration and delivery of health services. This file provides RHA district boundaries for cartographic and analytical purposes.Within Manitoba there are five Regional Health Authorities (or "RHAs") responsible for the delivery of health service in five specific areas of the province described as "health regions". (In practice, the terms "health region" and "RHA" are used interchangeably to describe these geographic areas.) In consultation with Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors, and with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, each of the RHAs has defined further subdivisions within each RHA . These sub-areas of each RHA generally correspond to areas of clustered population and/or service delivery. They are used to plan service delivery, and are also used to describe and analyze population health and health service use with more specificity than analysis at the RHA level could provide. Due to the size and the total population of Manitoba's RHAs, there are two levels of subdivided RHA geography which are used for analytical and planning purposes. The smallest subdivisions used for this purpose are RHA Districts. RHA Districts within an RHA are also grouped into larger sub-areas with the RHA called RHA Zones, within each RHA District within an RHA included in precisely one of these zone. This shapefile contains the boundaries of Manitoba's RHA districts.
