Water Allocation Notation - Points
Province-wide spatial view showing the most downstream point of a stream, as determined by Water Allocation staff, to have a current or potential water quantity/quality concern. Note: This layer has replaced the older Water Allocation Restrictions view spatial layer. This data is updated nightly.
Aquifers with Water Allocation Notations
This dataset displays aquifers with water allocation notations on them. This dataset is updated daily.
Mineral Restrictions
A mineral restriction is in place to limit and define mineral exploration and development within the Alberta government's mandate to protect natural or historical sites and to manage mineral resources. Examples of mineral restrictions include Bird Sanctuary, Provincial Park, and Coal Mine Licence Area. Restriction types with different levels of surface access are the result of government policy and all are mineral or substance specific.
Restricted Fire Zone
## Get data on areas where outdoor fires are not permitted. This dataset shows areas where outdoor fires are restricted in accordance with the [Forest Fires Prevention Act](https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90f24). There are two reasons why a restricted fire zone is in effect: * outdoor conditions are extremely dry * the number of fires occurring has stretched firefighting resources to capacity A restricted fire zone is a temporary measure for extreme situations and is lifted as soon as conditions permit. The [Forest Fire Info Map](https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/ForestFireInformationMap/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM) shows active fires, current fire danger and restricted fire zones in place due to high fire danger.
Piezometric Surface, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Level below which soil or rock is saturated with water, in the well and at the time the level has been measured, expressed in m above the sea level. Groundwater levels measured are interpolated / extrapolated to obtain groundwater level on every cell of the hydrogeological unit raster. Surfer and ArcGis are the software usually used to create groundwater level raster. The dataset designates a raster with a groundwater level, for each cell of the hydrogeological unit.
Land Licences
Land under administration and control of Government of Yukon and disposed of by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR), Land Management Branch in the form of active licences of occupation. A licence grants permission to do something which without the licence would not be allowable. Land Management Branch licences typically permit the construction and maintenance of power, telephone, water or sewer utilities on Commissioner's land. Licences of occupation are linear in nature and often extend long distances, hence the requirement for a separate feature class.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Manitoba Waterbody Data
This point feature layer contains both general and detailed information on waterbodies in Manitoba which are associated with the Lake Information for Anglers program. The point data contained within this layer represent the centroids of waterbodies in Manitoba. The layer describes a number of different attributes about a waterbody including, where available: average depth, aquatic invasive species information, regulatory links, presence of contours, waterbody specific PDF, fish assessment information, species information and coordinates. The waterbody data layer, along with related information, can be found at the Manitoba Lake Information For Anglers app. The project was initiated by Manitoba Wildlife and Fisheries Branch with funding from the Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Fund. Data is provided by Manitoba Wildlife and Fisheries Branch, Swan Valley Sport Fishing and Manitoba Watershed Districts. For additional information visit Manitoba Fisheries. The dataset includes the following fields (Alias (Name): Description) Waterbody ID (WATERBODY_ID): Unique identifier for an individual waterbody. Waterbody Name (WATERBODY_NAME): Name of the waterbody. Surface Area (km2) (SURFACE_AREA): Surface area of the waterbody in square kilometres. Average Depth (m) (AVERAGE_DEPTH_M): Average depth of a waterbody, if bathymetric data is available. Secchi (SECCHI): Indicates whether data exists for secchi depth in the waterbody (YES/NO). Secchi Depth (m) (SECCHI_DEPTH): Depth in meters of the visibility of a secchi disk. Fishing Division (FISHING_DIVISION): Indicates which fishing division the waterbody centroid is within. Fishing Division Special Area (SPECIAL_AREA): Indicates if the waterbody is within the special walleye areas (A or B). Please refer to the Angling Guide for details. UTM Zone (ZONE): Indicates which UTM zone the waterbody is in. Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS): Indicates the known or unknown presence of aquatic invasive species. Aquatic Invasive Species Control Zone (AIS_CONTROL_ZONE): Indicates which aquatic invasive species control zone a waterbody is within. High Quality Management (HIGH_QUALITY_MANAGEMENT): Indicates whether the waterbody falls under the high quality management angling regulations in Manitoba (TRUE/FALSE). HQM Description (HQM_DESCRIPTION): Indicates the high quality management provisions based on the fishing division the waterbody is in (only applies if the waterbody is a High Quality Management waterbody). Angling Regulations (SPECIAL_REGS): A note to see Manitoba Anglers’ Guide. Anglers' Guide (ANGLING_GUIDE): Contains a link (URL) to the Manitoba Anglers’ Guide. Waterbody Link (PRINTABLE_MAP): Contains a link to a PDF of waterbody contours and lake specific information for waterbodies that have bathymetric data. Boat Launch (BOAT_LAUNCH): Indicates whether the waterbody has a known boat launch (YES/NO). Launch Photo (LAUNCH_PHOTO): Indicates whether there is a launch photo for the waterbody (YES/NO). Boat Launch Photo (BOAT_LAUNCH_PHOTO): Contains a link (URL) that directs users to a photo of the launch. Stocked (STOCKED): Indicates whether the lake has been stocked with fish in the past (TRUE/FALSE). Species (SPECIES): A list of gamefish species that are known to have existed in the waterbody historically. Currently contains no info. Assessment (ASSESSMENT): Indicates whether an assessment PDF is available for the waterbody (YES/NO). Fisheries Assessment Link (FISHERIES_ASSESSMENT_LINK): Contains a link that directs users to a PDF document that contains information about species, fish age demographics, and master angler records. Long (DD) (LONG_DD): Longitudinal coordinates of the representative centroid of the waterbody in decimal degrees.
Groundwater Samples, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Groundwater samples have been collected in the hydrogeological unit, for various types of analysis. The dataset is not used to represent a particular phenomenon or observation but rather as a utility dataset to add context and reference to groundwater analysis. It represents a general description of the sample site and sample. Sampling methods vary according to the types of analysis.
Drinking Water Sources (Surface Water PODs)
Province-wide SDE spatial layer displaying consumptive water licence points of diversion for drinking water systems. In the context of this layer, Drinking Water Systems means two or more water licences for domestic purposes at a single POD; and/or a water licence(s) for any other purpose indicating a water diversion and distribution system supplying water directly to residences and/or buildings for human consumption. This layer is an instantiation of the spatial view WLS_BC_POD_DRINKING_SOURCES_SVW
Drinking Water Sources - Source Areas
Polygon features representing the geographical extent of a source area that contributes water to a drinking water system. A drinking water system is any domestic system servicing anything other than a single-family dwelling, as defined in the Drinking Water Protection Act. Source Area is a broad term used to describe any area that could potentially contribute water to the drinking water system; it does not mean that hydrologic analyses have been completed to determine likelihood of connectivity. These source areas most often represent the entire aquifer extent (for ground water systems) or the watershed upstream from the intake (for surface water systems). This is one of three Drinking Water Sources datasets (along with the DWS - Intakes/Wellheads points dataset, and DWS - Protection Zones polygons dataset). Note: these polygons have unique Source Areas IDs used to relate them to the Intakes/Wellhead points.
