MASC Risk Areas/MASC Risk Regions
This file outlines the boundaries of the 15 risk areas defined by Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation./This file describes the boundaries of the 15 risk areas defined by the Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation. This file outlines the boundaries of the 15 risk areas defined by Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation. Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) divides Manitoba into 15 Risk Areas of similar crop production risks, which are used to determine the premiums a producer country and the coverage that crops receive. For more information, visit MASC's website: https://www.masc.mb.ca/masc.nsf/maps_risk_areas.html This file describes the boundaries of the 15 at-risk areas defined by the Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation. The Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation divides Manitoba into 15 high-risk regions where crop production risks are similar. They are used to determine the premium the producer pays and the coverage the crops receive. For more information, visit the Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation website: https://www.masc.mb.ca/masc_fr.nsf/maps_risk_areas.html**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Canada Nature Fund for Species at Risk (CNFASAR) Priority Places and Priority Marine Threats
The Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk (CNFASAR) is a contribution program that focuses on providing funding for recovery and threat mitigation activities in nine priority places and to address two marine threats to aquatic species at risk. The Priority Places and Marine Threats layer supports CNFASAR by delineating the location of the places and threats. The Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk (CNFASAR) supports applicants in the design and delivery of stewardship projects. These projects support the recovery and protection of aquatic species at risk. DFO has identified 2 priority marine threats and 9 priority places as the focus for projects funded by CNFASAR, these areas are included in this dataset.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada Species at Risk Distribution (Range)
The Species at Risk (SAR) Program is responsible for carrying out DFO’s mandate under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) to protect, recover and conserve all listed aquatic SAR in Canada. As part of this mandate, this spatial database has been developed to identify areas in which aquatic species listed under SARA may be found.Distribution and range information are identified for species listed as Endangered, Threatened or Special Concern under SARA.Distribution (range) polygons and lines were assembled by regional SARA biologists using the best available information, including COSEWIC status reports, recovery potential assessments, academic literature, and expert opinion. These spatial data support the protection, recovery and conservation of species listed as Endangered, Threatened or Special Concern under SARA. Species distributions are also described and displayed in Recovery Strategies, Action Plans and/or Management Plans. Discrepancies may exist between the distribution data shown in a species’ SARA recovery document and the current spatial data. Please contact DFO for more information on any data discrepancies.
Environment
ENV - Environment and conservation (environment)Environmental resources, protection, and conservation. For example, resources describing pollution, waste storage and treatment, environmental impact assessment, environmental risk, and nature reserves. )
Historical Fire Management Zone
This dataset shows the boundaries of the province's six fire management zones that existed prior to 2014 in which most forest fires received the same type of response. These management zones were based on: * common forest and forest fire management objectives * land use * density of values at risk * fire load * forest ecology The 2014 Wildland Fire Management Strategy moved from a zone-based approach to one where each wildland fire is assessed and receives an appropriate response according to the circumstances and condition of the fire.
AEP Parks Operations Division Management Area Boundaries
This dataset contains boundaries of Management Areas, which are geographic areas of managerial responsibility within Parks Operations Division, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas. Management Areas are groupings of Districts, which are geographic areas of operational responsibility within Parks Operations Division. Parks Operations Division Districts nest within Management Areas, which in turn nest within Regions. These boundaries are administrative/operational in nature, and are subject to change.
Area Based Management Plans
Area Based Management Plans (ABMP) are designated areas for the purposes of environmental protection. It must consider the impact of point and non-point source of waste, cumulative impact of the wastes, environmental management objectives and outcomes for the designated area, and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
Emergency Management historical events
Most of these events involved community evacuations, significant structural loss and/or involvement of a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Emergency Response Officer. Events include those assigned to MNR by an Order-In-Council under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as well as events where MNR provided requested emergency response assistance. These events fall into one of ten type categories: * dam failure * drought /low water * erosion * flood * forest fire * soil and bedrock instability * Petroleum Resource Center event * EMO requested assistance * continuity of operations event * other requested assistance This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
The Probabilistic Seismic Risk Model for Canada
The Probabilistic Seismic Risk Model for Canada introduces a structured framework of indicators that profile the physical, social and economic dimensions of earthquake risk at the neighborhood scale.Risk metrics include measures of building damage and collapse probability, life safety and expected economic losses. An overall risk rating is also provided which aggregates the physical, social, and economic dimensions of risk. The probabilistic assessment reports information based on both the ‘total’ impact as well as the ‘percentage’ impact. It considers only damage to buildings, and their inhabitants, from earthquake shaking, and therefore does not include damage to critical infrastructure or vehicles. Losses from secondary hazards, such as aftershocks, liquefaction, landslides, or fire following are also not currently included. The information is provided at the approximate scale of Census dissemination areas, and is intended to support planning and emergency management activities in earthquake prone regions. This project is run by the Geological Survey of Canada's Public Safety Geoscience Program. For inquiries related to Canada's Seismic Risk Model, please contact Tiegan E. Terrestrial Protected Areas Representation by Biogeoclimatic Zone
Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC) zone boundaries with percent protected, number of overlapping protected areas and other attributes added as a result of geoprocessing in the Protected Area System Overview (PASO) application. Protected area and park representation by BEC zone provides a zonal ecosystem context for natural resource planning processes such as; management plans, land use zoning, environmental risk assessment, landscape analysis, habitat supply, and management of high priority species.
