Seral Stage Assessment for the Cariboo Region
Seral stage assessment for the Cariboo Region to support the [Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP)](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/crown-land-water/land-use-planning/regions/cariboo/cariboochilcotin-rlup). This assessment is based on [Vegetated Resource Information (VRI)](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/6ba30649-14cd-44ad-a11f-794feed39f40) data, and uses the CCLUP [Productive Forest Land Base](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/0cfa7f53-272d-47d4-83df-95b4edd75460) as the assessment landbase. Last updated 2026-02-06, based on 2024 VRI (Vegetation Resource Inventory) data. Spatial data and PDF reports and for this and previous seral stage assessments are available for download under "Data and Resources" on the right side of this page. Use the **BC Geographic Warehouse Custom Download** link to download the most recent seral stage assessment data. Web map service and KML files of the most recent seral stage assessment are also available through links on the right. Previous assessments are listed by year; spatial data is available in zipped fgdb format for these.
Douglas-firs (Genus Pseudotsuga) in Canada2011
The raster maps depict a suite of forest attributes in 2001* and 2011 at 250 m by 250 m spatial resolution. The maps were produced using the k nearest neighbours method applied to MODIS imagery and trained from National Forest Inventory photo plot data. For detailed information about map production methods please refer to Beaudoin et al. (2018) "Tracking forest attributes across Canada between 2001 and 2011 using the k nearest neighbours mapping approach applied to MODIS imagery." Canadian Journal of Forest Research 48, 85-93. https://cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/publications?id=38979 The map datasets may be downloaded from https://nfi.nfis.org/downloads/nfi_knn2011.zip or https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/ec9e2659-1c29-4ddb-87a2-6aced147a990 * Note: the forest composition (leading tree genus) map depicts forest attributes in 2001.How can this data be used? The resolution and accuracy of these map products are best suited for strategic-level forest reporting and informing policy and decision making at regional to national scales. As these maps also offer a coherent set of quantitative values for a large suite of forest attributes, they can be used as baseline information for modelling and in calculations such as merchantable forest volume or percentage of tree species. It is also possible to overlay these maps with other maps produced on the same pixel grid to make assessments of disturbance impacts, such as fire and harvests.

Parks and Campgrounds - Surveyed
A Public Right Area Object representing the spatial extent of a National or Territorial park. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries. Administrative decisions should be based on legal documents and legal survey plans.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Placer claims - 50k
A placer claim is a parcel of land located or granted for placer mining. A claim also includes any ditches or water rights used for mining the claim and all other things belonging to or used in the working of the claim for mining purposes. A placer claim is a rectangular plot of ground. All angles of a claim must be right angles, except in the case where a boundary line of a previously located claim is adopted as common to both locations. The length of a regular placer claim from post one to post two is 500 feet along a baseline. Co-discovery claims must not exceed 1250 feet each and single discovery claims must not exceed 1500 feet.Distributed from the [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) digital map data collection by [Yukon government](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Kimberlite Indicator Mineral Analyses
This dataset represents locations, descriptions, and geochemical analyses of samples contained in the Kimberlite Indicator Mineral Surveys database. This dataset represents Kimberlite Indicator Mineral Analyses locations in the province of Saskatchewan. This dataset was compiled using Assessment File data, samples from many years of field mapping which were integrated into this dataset. The data was then created as a file geodatabase feature class and output for public distribution. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.
Manitoba Original Survey Legal Descriptions
Feature layer depicting the centre of quarter sections, parish lots and others in Manitoba. The purpose of this layer is to provide search criteria for Manitoba legal descriptions. This feature layer is comprised of point locations that represent the centre of the bounds of the corresponding legal parcel. The types of legal descriptions include quarter sections (D.L.S.), river lots, parish lots, wood lots, outer two mile lots, and settlement lots. The point may not fall exactly on the centre of the legal parcel of land. This feature layer is meant as a search tool to locate the general location of the given legal description and it may not be exact. The points were initially derived from a variety of sources. Most of the points came from the Southern and Northern Grid of DLS section boundaries created by Sustainable Development. Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field Description) OBJECTID (OBJECTID_1): Sequential unique whole numbers that area automatically generated Informal Legal Description (LEGAL_DESC): The informal legal description (No leading zeros on numbers). Formal Legal Description (LEGAL_DESC0): The formal legal description (Leading zeros on numbers). Type (TYPE): The type of legal division ('Quarter' = Quarter section, 'RL' = River lot, 'Lot' = Township lot, 'OT' = Outer two mile lot, 'PL' = Parish lot, 'SL' = Settlement lot, 'WL' = Wood lot). Quarter (QUARTER): Which DLS quarter section the point is referencing (NE, NW, SE or SW meaning respectfully North-east, North-west, South-east or South-west) Section (SECTION): The DLS section the point is referencing (1-36). Township (TOWNSHIP): The DLS township the point is referencing. Range (RANGE): The DLS range the point is referencing. Lot No. (LOT_NO): The lot number of the corresponding river, settlement, township, outer two mile or parish lot. Meridian (MERIDIAN): The meridian of the section (East 1, East 2 or West 1). Parish Name (PARISH_NAME): The name of the parish that the lot belongs to. Range Addition (RANGEADD): The added text for specific range values (if applicable).
Provincial Parks Act Section 7 Lands
The Provincial Parks Act provides for designation of lands to be managed under the Act that are not established as parks/protected areas. These lands are 'declared' under the Provincial Parks (Section 7 Declaration) Regulation, and are legally described in Schedules to the Regulation. Specific provisions of the Act and regulations may be applied to each land parcel declared under section 7 to provide for management of the lands. Section 7 is used to address interim management of lands that have been acquired for park/protected area purposes but are not yet designated, or where activities not permitted in a park/protected area are being managed until such time as the activity is completed and the lands can be designated as a park/protected area. The applicable Ministerial Order is referenced in the 'NOTES' field.
