National Inventory of Orphaned and Abandoned Mines
This database aggregates basic information on orphaned and abandoned mine sites from participating Canadian jurisdictions, including their name, location, jurisdiciton, and the commodity that was mined. It was originally created in 2012 through the National Orphaned/Abandoned Mines Initiative and has undergone several updates since that time. Data on sites in each jurisdiction is owned and maintained by that jurisdiction. The database includes links to the corresponding records in that jursidiction. While the database includes common informaiton about all sites, there may be discrepancies in the types of data provided about sites in different jurisdictions and data from some jurisdictions may be updated more frequently than others.
Oil and Gas Facility Location Applications
Facilities are an oil and gas activity, defined in the Energy Resources Activities Act as a system of vessels, piping, valves, tanks and other equipment used to gather, process, measure, store or dispose of petroleum, natural gas, water or a substance referred to in paragraph (d) or (e) of the definition of pipeline. Get a list of provincially licensed operators that collect, transport, process and dispose of deadstock (dead farm animals) in Ontario. This dataset includes facility type, name, location/region and contact information of licensed deadstock operators in Ontario. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, in consultation with stakeholders, have developed regulations for the disposal of deadstock (dead farm animals) in Ontario. The regulations provide more disposal options for livestock producers and meat plant operators, with measures to protect the environment.

This digital product is developed from a database of published abandoned mine openings for the province of Nova Scotia. The database is maintained by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, Geoscience and Mines Branch. The database provides approximate coordinate locations for many of the abandoned mine openings, and also provides a source reference on each mine opening.
