The School Districts dataset contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the current extent of the administrative areas defined under section 176(1) of the School Act for the purposes of preservation and promotion of the fundamental principle of local autonomy and control of public education at the public and governmental levels through locally elected school boards.

This dataset was created to provide a spatial dataset of the school divisions within the province of Manitoba.This polygon layer depicts official boundaries of the Manitoba School Divisions as per Director of Surveys (DoS) plans. Each DoS number can be found in the field "source". Boundaries are approved by both Manitoba Education and the Director of Surveys of Manitoba. Ward boundaries, schools and the following school divisions are not included in this dataset: Funded Independent,  Non-funded Independent,  First Nations,  Institutional schools, and  The Division Scolaire franco-manitobaine. This dataset defines school attendance boundaries by school, grade level, and program. Each record represents a specific school boundary that defines the area from which students are eligible to attend a school, based on grade level and program type.A single school may have multiple boundaries depending on the grades served and the educational programs offered.Data Fields:The dataset includes the following fields:• DistrictID - Unique identifier for the school district• SchoolID - Unique identifier for the school • SchoolName - Official name of the school• SchBounId - Unique identifier within the district for the school boundary• SchBounDes - Boundary description• Program - Educational program associated with the boundary• Grade - Grade or range of grades served by the boundaryAdditional Notes:• One school can be associated with multiple boundary records.• Boundaries may differ by grade level, program type, or both.• This school boundary dataset is provided “as is” and is intended for general informational purposes only. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy, the data may not reflect the most current school boundaries. School attendance areas are subject to change. The applicable school district is the final authority on all school boundary determinations.

The data includes information on school locations as submitted by private schools in their Notice of Intention (NOI) to operate as private school. Private schools NOI information is being collected in the Ontario School Information System (OnSIS). Saskatchewan Sport Fish Management Zones as described in the fisheries regulations.Spatial dataset created to represent the provincial sport fishing management zones within Saskatchewan as described in Table 5 of the Fisheries Regulations.  Saskatchewan is divided into three management zones for angling regulations.  Differences in the opening and closing dates for the angling season occur between zones, with certain lakes in each zone having special regulations applied to them.  Consult the Anglers’ Guide for further information on specific dates and/or limits. 

Game Hunting Areas (GHAs) are defined under the Hunting Areas and Zones Regulation (220/86) of The Wildlife Act (CCSM c. Game Hunting Areas are used to support boundaries for species specific hunting seasons, harvest allocations, bag limits, and associated regulations. Refer to the Hunting Areas and Zones Regulation for GHA boundary descriptions.

This spatial data identifies breeding zones used by forest managers and forest genetic associations to manage provincial forest genetic assets. The data: * shows the boundaries of breeding zones * identifies the primary or target species within each zone Species are associated with certain breeding programs, seed orchards and progeny (descendant) testing installations.

Current Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) Zones polygons are hunting opportunities created via a lottery, and the details are found in the LEH Synopsis. Participation in the LEH draw is available to any resident of BC who legally possesses a BC Resident Hunter Number. The purpose of Limited Entry Hunting is to achieve wildlife management objectives without resorting to such measures as shortening seasons or completely closing areas. It is only introduced where it has become necessary to limit the number of hunters, limit the number of animals that may be taken, or limit the harvest to a certain class of animal. The Zones are valid during the LEH hunting season, and changes are made effective July 1st of each yearly. Some zones change frequently, some change rarely.
