Landform by Ecoregion
The National Ecological Framework for Canada's "Landform by Ecoregion” series contains tables that provide regional landform information for components within the ecoregion framework polygon. It provides landform codes and their English and French-language descriptions as well as information about the percentage of the polygon that the component occupies. Regional landforms generally describe a region and include the various shapes of the land surface resulting from a variety of actions such as deposition or sedimentation (eskers, lacustrine basins), erosion (gullies, canyons), and earth crust movements (mountains). The regional landform classes are: plateau or tableland, hill and mountain, organic wetland, plain, scarp or valley.

The National Ecological Framework for Canada's "Landform by Ecoprovince” series contains tables that provide regional landform information for components within the ecoprovince framework polygon. Canada Forest Wildfires (2023)
Map of burned area in Canada's forested ecosystems for the 2023 fire session at 30-m spatial resolution mapped from time-series data from Sentinel-2A and -2B, and Landsat-8 and -9 using the Tracking Intra- and Inter-year Change (TIIC) algorithm (Pelletier et al. 2024). It is developed within the framework of Canada’s National Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring System (NTEMS). Fires are grouped into two classes based on detection period: summer fires and fall fires. Summer burned pixels were detected between May 30 and September 17, and fall burned pixels were detected between September 17 and October 25. For summer fires, burned pixels were identified by TIIC as changed and typed as fire. For the fall period, TIIC only detected changes within a 4-km buffer of the NRCan fire perimeters (https://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/datamart). This approach was used to limit commission errors that can occur due to known limitations of mapping with optical data in the fall due to phenology, snow cover, or low sun angles. For the 2023 fire season, the TIIC algorithm detected 12.74 Mha of burned area in Canada's forested ecozones, representing 1.8% of the total forest-dominated ecozone area. Of the 12.74 Mha, 11.57 Mha (90.9%) was burned by summer fires and 1.16 Mha (9.1%) by fall fires (Pelletier et al, 2024).When using this data, please cite as: Pelletier, F., Cardille, J.A., Wulder, M.A., White, J.C., Hermosilla, T., 2024. Surface Form by Ecozone
The National Ecological Framework for Canada's "Surface Form by Ecozone" dataset contains tables that provide surface form information for components within the ecozone framework polygon. It provides surface form codes and their English and French-language descriptions as well as information about the percentage of the polygon that the component occupies. Surface form descriptions describe assemblages of slopes or recurring patterns of forms that occur at the earth's surface. When applied to consolidated materials (material that has been transformed to hard rock), it refers to the form produced after modification by geological processes. The mineral soil surface forms are: dissected; hummocky (irregular); inclined; level, rolling; ridged; steep; terraced; undulating. The wetland surface forms are: bog; fen; marsh; swamp.

Forest stands (FSTAND) is a vector delineation of relatively homogeneous forest stands or naturally non-forested areas as polygons with a 0.5 ha minimum area and a 2.0 ha median area.Download: Here The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, Forest Service Branch, has developed a forest resource inventory (FRI) which meets a variety of strategic and operational planning information needs for the boreal plains. Such needs include information on the general land cover, terrain, and growing stock (height, diameter, basal area, timber volume and stem density) within the provincial forest and adjacent forest fringe. This inventory provides spatially explicit information as 10 m or 20 m raster grids and as vectors polygons for relatively homogeneous forest stands or naturally non-forested areas with a 0.5 ha minimum area and a 2.0 ha median area. Soil separates are mineral particles, 2.0 mm in diameter and include: gravel 0.2 -7.5 cm and cobbles 7.5-25.0 cm. There are 12 texture group classes definitions and one class definition for Not Applicable (which indicates, for example, water, ice or urban areas).
