Middle Cambrian Lithology Siltstone (GIS data, line features)
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 8 of the Atlas, Middle Cambrian to Lower Ordovician Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 20b, Middle Cambrian Lithology Siltstone. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
Alberta Shale Report: Outlines of Evaluated Shale and Siltstone Units (GIS data, polygon features)
This dataset contains the outlines of the evaluated areas for shale- and siltstone-hosted hydrocarbons in Alberta from the Energy Resources Conservation Board/Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2012-06. These evaluated areas are for the following units: - Duvernay Formation, - Muskwa Formation, - Montney Formation, - Basal Banff/Exshaw study area, - North Nordegg study area, and - Wilrich Member. For information on the extent and characteristics of the shale and siltstone units and the overall resource assessment approach see Energy Resources Conservation Board/Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2012-06.

This digital data release includes adsorption isotherm and proximate analysis results of selected samples for shale- and siltstone-hosted hydrocarbons. The strata evaluated include the: - basal Banff Formation, - Colorado Group, - Duvernay Formation, - Exshaw Formation, - Montney Formation, - Muskwa Formation, - Wilrich Member, - Nordegg Member, and - Rierdon Formation.

The Town dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Towns in Alberta. Town is a municipality type defined under the authority of the Municipal Government Act. The formation of a Town can occur if a majority of buildings are on parcels of land smaller than 1850 square metres and there is a population of 1000 or more.
National Inventory of Orphaned and Abandoned Mines
This database aggregates basic information on orphaned and abandoned mine sites from participating Canadian jurisdictions, including their name, location, jurisdiciton, and the commodity that was mined. It was originally created in 2012 through the National Orphaned/Abandoned Mines Initiative and has undergone several updates since that time. Data on sites in each jurisdiction is owned and maintained by that jurisdiction. The database includes links to the corresponding records in that jursidiction. While the database includes common informaiton about all sites, there may be discrepancies in the types of data provided about sites in different jurisdictions and data from some jurisdictions may be updated more frequently than others.

Marbled Murrelets - Coastal Resource Information Management System (CRIMS)
Distribution of Marbeled Murrelet habitat in coastal British Columbia showing relative abundance (RA) by season and overall relative importance (RI). RI is based on project region and not on the province as a whole. CRIMS is a legacy dataset of BC coastal resource data that was acquired in a systematic and synoptic manner from 1979 and was intermittently updated throughout the years. Resource information was collected in nine study areas using a peer-reviewed provincial Resource Information Standards Committee consisting of DFO Fishery Officers, First Nations, and other subject matter experts. There are currently no plans to update this legacy data.
Lithogeochemistry Athabasca
This dataset represents lithogeochemistry of Saskatchewan samples.This dataset represents lithogeochemistry of Saskatchewan samples. This dataset represents the exhaustive mapping and sampling program of the Athabasca Group between 1975 and 1981 by the Saskatchewan Geological Survey (SGS), the results of which are contained in Ramaekers (1990). These samples are now stored at the Ministry of Energy and Resources, Subsurface Geological Laboratory in Regina, Saskatchewan. A selection of these samples was chosen to help characterize the background geochemical signature of the Athabasca Group and to identify anomalous regions. A total of 837 samples were chosen. All samples in this data set were processed at the Geoanalytical Laboratories at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified facility (i.e., meets the General Requirements for the Competence of Mineral Testing and Calibration Laboratories). Samples were crushed, split, agate ground, and then run with Sandstone Exploration Package ICPMS 1. The package produces three separate analysis types: inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP MS) partial digestion for trace elements; ICP MS total digestion for trace elements; and ICP–Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP–OES) total digestion for major and minor elements. Details and detection limits are available on the SRC’s website. ICP total digestion: a 0.250 g pulp is gently heated in a mixture of ultrapure HF/HNO3/HClO4until dry and the residue dissolved in dilute ultrapure HNO3; ICP MS total digestion: a 0.250 g pulp is gently heated in a mixture of ultrapure HF/HNO3/HClO4until dry and the residue dissolved in dilute ultrapure HNO3; ICP MS partial digestion: a 2.00 g pulp is digested with 2.25 ml of 8:1 ultrapure HNO3:HCl for 1 hour at 95° C; Detection limits are from the SRC's 2011 Analytical Fee Schedule; null values indicate that elements are below the detection limit. NOTE: Attribute data headings ending with TD indicate Total Digestion, those ending with PD indicate Partial Digestion. Bedrock Geological Units, Groundwater Geoscience Program
The bedrock geologic units designate units of the same types of rock which composed the solid rock exposed at ground surface (as outcrop) or which underlies unconsolidated surficial sediments. This dataset represents a general description of the stratigraphy and geology, including geologic unit thickness, morphology, age and rank. It features a list of the geologic unit names and types of rock (lithology) in the hydrogeological unit, from a controlled vocabulary. While the preferred format to deliver this data is by using a shapefile and its linked attributes, this dataset can be delivered also by providing link to external data which should have at least the same properties or also by joining a georeferenced image of the map.
