BC Environmental Monitoring Locations
**PLEASE NOTE:** The Environmental Monitoring System will be replaced by the EnMoDS system on March 5th, 2026. The EMS results objects will not contain new data after Feb 26th, 2026. Environmental Monitoring Data System (EnMoDS) Spatial Sampling Locations
Environmental monitoring locations from the [Environmental Monitoring Data System (EnMoDS)](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content?id=BDE7F9F4BC4546629582CEBC4ABC8101). These point location records show where discrete environmental monitoring may have taken place. Locations are generally in naturalized settings such as rivers and lakes, but also include anthropogenic features like wells and industrial facilities including waste discharges. Key attribute fields for filtering include, location ID, location type, location group, observation count, and most recent field visit date. Observational results for each location can be accessed from [EnMoDS Web Reporting](https://enmodswr.nrs.gov.bc.ca/) or from [EnMoDS Results Data Records](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/83a585fe-effb-48bd-8a03-d35db4eeb1bb). The water monitoring sites data set compiles these varied sources into a single source with the intent to provide a 'one-stop shop' when searching for water monitoring data. Aggregate Site Authorized
This dataset represents the locations of licenced and permitted pits and quarries regulated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry under the Aggregate Resources Act, R.S.O. 1990. Aggregate site data has been divided into active and inactive sites. Active sites may be further subdivided into partial surrenders. In partial surrenders, defined areas of a site are inactive while the rest of the site remains active. The data includes: * site location and size * licensee name * approval type (licence or permit) * operation type (pit or quarry) * maximum annual tonnage limit * the MNRF district responsible for the site Use our interactive [pits and quarries map](https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-pits-and-quarries) to find active sites. This data does not include [aggregate sites regulated by the Ministry of Transportation](https://data.ontario.ca/dataset/ministry-of-transportation-aggregate-sites).
Disease Investigations data
Table containing information relevant to animal disease investigations in Manitoba from 2012 to present.This table contains information relevant to animal disease investigations in Manitoba from 2012 to present, conducted by the Chief Veterinary Office (CVO). Information includes year, number of sites, number of linked sites, animal species, disease types and results. Updated on a weekly basis. It is important that users are aware of the following caveats when reviewing data presented in the Animal Disease Investigations Dashboard: 1. Each investigation can have one or more cases involved depending on the number of herds or animals exposed. Not all disease investigations are handled the same due to a partnership approach. Diseases can be detected via surveillance, ad hoc reporting, or through other programs. 2. Rabies is a separate program. Please see Manitoba's Provincial Rabies Management Program for data related to Rabies Surveillance.3. Certain zoonotic diseases, such as salmonella or influenza, are also captured in more detail through other means. The total occurrence of a zoonotic disease represented in this dashboard reflects occurrences where risks or exposures were deemed significant enough to warrant further investigation. 4. Historically, One Health Investigations that were predominantly focused on Public Health issues rather than Animal Health concerns were not captured in this system and will be underrepresented here. Aquatic health monitoring sites
The Adaptive Management Framework for Yukon placer mining is complemented by traditional knowledge and monitoring of water quality objectives, aquatic health, and economic health. The aquatic health monitoring program is governed by the Aquatic Health Monitoring Protocol. The Protocol describes the locations, timing, frequency and methods employed during sampling, as well as the methods used to analyze sampling data. The Reference Condition Approach (RCA) is the method chosen for assessing the health of freshwater ecosystems in the Yukon. One RCA model was developed for bioassessment based upon benthic macroinvertebrates, and a second model was developed to assess the diversity of fish species. The RCA model for invertebrates relies upon 224 reference sites collected over the period 2004 to 2010 by the University of Western Ontario, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and Yukon G overnment, using the same standard protocol. The invertebrate data set was analyzed at the family level. There are two fundamental steps in the process of developing the predictive model. The first is to classify the reference sites based on their biological characteristics. This requires defining a number of community types based on the taxonomic composition. The second step is to determine a subset of habitat attributes that are associated with those community types. Following this step the number and type of organisms expected to occur at any given site can be determined from habitat attributes.
