This is an ongoing assemblage of mineral assessment airborne surveys. The data was created as a file geodatabase feature class and output for public distribution. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse.  They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.

The term “geotechnical investigation site” refers to locations where geotechnical (surveys and instrumentation) and geophysical data are available. This data includes:Geotechnical investigation sites (site_inv_geotech_p): Geotechnical surveys produced by or for the Ministry from the 1990s, from the active database of the Directorate of Geotechnics and Geology (DGG). Data is added as it is validated.This file is accompanied by a Stratigraphic Characteristics table (site_inv_geotech _STRATI.csv). This contains stratigraphic information for the majority of sites and can be linked to the location file using the “NO_UNIQUE” primary key.BDG geotechnical investigation sites (site_inv_geotech_bdg_p): Geotechnical drilling and drilling from an “inactive” database entrusted to the DGG by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife (MRNF), since the mid-1980s. This data keeps the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness' records of modified or newly constructed drainage systems current. Constructed drains include ditches, buried tile systems, or natural watercourses that have been modified to improve drainage.

The dataset includes subsurface stratigraphic picks for the top of the Oldman Formation (base of the Dinosaur Park Formation) in the Alberta Plains (Townships 1 to 47, Ranges 1W4 to 5W5) made from wireline geophysical well logs. The dataset supplements Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2011-13, which describes the methodology used to make the picks. Well data were screened to detect errors resulting from deviated wells, as well as incorrect ground and kelly bushing elevation data. We used statistical methods to identify local and regional statistical outliers, which we examined individually.
