Monitoring of pesticides in groundwater
This thematic layer shows the location of the wells sampled for pesticides in the context of various studies carried out near certain target crop environments between 1999 and 2024. The data comes from an extraction from the BQMA and, when a report is available on the Department's website, the reader can access it from a link in the information window. Private well sampling stations are grouped by watershed in order to comply with sections 53 and 54 of the Act on access to documents held by public bodies and on the protection of personal information.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**

Groundwater Level, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Level below which soil or rock is saturated with water, in the well and at the time the level has been measured, expressed in m above the sea level. Groundwater depth is measured on the field, using a water level meters. The depth is then subtracted from the elevation of the measurement site to obtain the water level elevation. The dataset is a general description of the measurement site including location and well elevation. It features a series of points of the surface elevation of the groundwater body.
Total Soil Moisture (mm)
Total soil moisture is the modelled amount of plant available water (mm) in the root zone of the soil. The value given is the amount calculated to be present on the modeled day of the product.Values are computed using the Versatile Soil Moisture Budget (VSMB)
Groundwater Composition, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Water composition is defined by measuring the amounts of its various constituents; these are often expressed as milligrams of substance per litre of water (mg/L). Sampling methods vary according to the types of analysis. Dataset point: The dataset represents a general description of the sample, including name, ID, type of analysis and lab. It includes numbers describing the results of the analysis and physical properties of groundwater. Time series: The dataset represents a general description of the sample, including name, ID, type of analysis and lab. It includes series of numbers describing the results of the analysis and physical properties of groundwater with associated date. Dynamic values over time at the same sites provides temporal variation data of groundwater composition.
Monitoring of pesticides in surface water
This thematic layer shows the location of pesticide stations in surface water monitored as part of various studies. The data comes from an extraction from the BQMA and, when a report is available on the Department's website, the reader can access it from a link in the information window. The dataset on the monitoring of pesticides in surface water also includes a layer of sampling stations, a layer of polygons presenting the drainage areas of some of the stations and finally, a data table including the compilation of land use by year for each of these drainage areas. The drainage areas and the land use table are linked to the sampling stations based on the BQMA station number.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Condos - Surveyed
Surveyed Condominium are Real Property Object representing the spatial extents of a condominium or apartment unit to which rights or interests can be registered. Condominium common areas are not included within this definition. Common areas are not spatially represented within the ICM Database. Condominium units must be associated to a Land Parcel.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Assessment Report Geochemistry
The Yukon Geological Survey stores a significant amount of geological information gathered by exploration companies in compliance with the Quartz Mining Act. This information is primarily contained in assessment reports (AR). Since 1920, more than 8000 hardrock assessment reports have been collected, with more than 6000 of these containing geochemical data on surficial samples (e.g., soil, rock, stream sediment, and vegetation). The sheer volume and historical depth of these data provide valuable insight into the mineral potential of the Yukon. Exploration companies rely on data from ARs to search for exploration targets. To aid exploration companies, YGS has developed this database to consolidate geochemical data extracted from assessment reports. This database, the Geochemical Assessment Report Data Extracted database (GARDEd), was created by extracting and compiling data from more than 300 assessment reports. GARDEd was initially populated with data from samples within a 75 km radius of the Casino deposit to evaluate the data extraction procedures and assess the feasibility of the database. Data capture focused on recent ARs because these were available in digital format. The initial release of this database contains approximately 10% of the geochemical data from surface samples within Yukon ARs.YGS encourages users to send feedback to [geology@yukon.ca](mailto:geology@yukon.ca) to assess the usefulness of the dataset and determine how much effort should be invested to capture older, non-digital ARs.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://mapservices.gov.yk.ca/GeoYukon/) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/) . Modelled Mean Summer Circulation and Conditions in Bute Inlet, British Columbia
This dataset contains the outputs for Bute Inlet from two simulations shown in the publication "Fjord circulation permits persistent subsurface water mass in a long, deep mid-latitude inlet" by Laura Bianucci et al., DFO Ocean Sciences Division, Pacific Region (published in the journal Ocean Science in 2024). The Finite Volume Community Ocean Model (FVCOM v4.1) was run with two different sets of initial conditions for the Discovery Islands region of British Columbia, Canada, from May 24 to June 27, 2019. The "Baseline" simulation used observed initial conditions, while the "Sensitivity" simulation removed the observed cold subsurface water mass from the initial profiles. Here in this dataset, we provide 29-day averages of the following variables in a transect along Bute Inlet: potential temperature, density, along-inlet velocity, and Brunt-Väisälä frequency (N^2). The averaging properly removes the tidal effects.
Agricultural Land Parcels - Surveyed
This layer shows surveyed parcels that fall under the Agricultural Development Area Regulations or are within an agricultural zone as defined in one of the Development Area Regulations ( [Find zoning maps for Yukon communities \| Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/en/find-zoning-maps-yukon-communities) ). The field "Title Description" indicates if the parcels is titled to private, a government entity (commissioner, community or federal) or untitled.
