OIC - Historic Resources Act
Orders in Council (OIC) are regulations or legislative orders in relation to and authorized by an existing Act. This table identifies Yukon lands withdrawn from disposal, usually by Territorial Order in Council. In Corporate Spatial Warehouse (CSW) data is split out into spatial views by Act under which orders are authorized. The tables are comprehensive and include both active and expired orders. Spatial views show only the active data.In this table and spatial views, Regulations by Order in Council (OIC) are spatially represented to provide clarity regarding Yukon lands withdrawn from disposal. Spatial data is viewed by the Act under which the order is authorized. Not all orders are for withdrawal, different levels of withdrawal are common and not detailed in GIS attributes. Canada's conserved areas – Interactive map
The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. Canada's conserved areas indicators report the amount and proportion of Canada's terrestrial (land and freshwater) and marine area that is recognized as conserved. Well-managed conserved areas are one way to protect wild species and their habitats for present and future generations. Habitat conservation is a measure of human response to the loss of biodiversity and natural habitat. As the area conserved in Canada increases, more lands and waters are withdrawn from direct human development stresses, thereby contributing to biodiversity conservation and improving the health of ecosystems. In turn, healthy ecosystems provide benefits such as clean water, mitigation of climate change, pollination and improved human health. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. Distribution of Gray Whales - Coastal Resource Information Management System (CRIMS)
Modeled data showing the likely distribution of gray whales. CRIMS is a legacy dataset of BC coastal resource data that was acquired in a systematic and synoptic manner from 1979 and was intermittently updated throughout the years. Resource information was collected in nine study areas using a peer-reviewed provincial Resource Information Standards Committee consisting of DFO Fishery Officers, First Nations, and other subject matter experts. There are currently no plans to update this legacy data.
California and Steller Sealion Haulout Points - CRIMS
California and Steller sealion haulout sites. Coastal Resource Information Management System (CRIMS) is a legacy dataset of BC coastal resource data that was acquired in a systematic and synoptic manner from 1979 and was intermittently updated throughout the years. Resource information was collected in nine study areas using a peer-reviewed provincial Resource Information Standards Committee consisting of DFO Fishery Officers, First Nations, and other subject matter experts. There are currently no plans to update this legacy data.
Regional Information and Monitoring Network
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) are publishing databases with effluent and environmental monitoring results from nuclear facilities located along the Ottawa River watershed as part of the Regional Information and Monitoring Network (RIMNet) for the Ottawa River Watershed Basin initiative. The facilities included are Chalk River Laboratories, Nordion Canada Inc., SRB Technologies Canada Inc., and Nuclear Power Demonstration Waste Facility. The initiative was developed to address questions and concerns expressed by members of the public and Indigenous Nations and communities about the availability of publicly accessible environmental monitoring data in the Ottawa River Watershed Basin. More information about the initiative is available here: https://www.cnsc-ccsn.gc.ca/eng/resources/environmental-protection/rimnet/ This dataset contains effluent and environmental monitoring results from Chalk River Laboratories, Nordion Canada Inc., SRB Technologies Canada Inc., and Nuclear Power Demonstration Waste Facility. All of the effluent and emissions releases to the environment in this dataset are below the CNSC licensed release limits. All of the environmental monitoring results in this dataset are below environmental quality guidelines.
