Mean Temperature Difference From Normal
Mean Temperature Difference From Normal values are computed by subtracting the normal monthly average temperature from the average monthly temperature of the month. The average monthly temperature is computed by obtaining the mean value of average daily temperatures for a month. If the month was colder than normal the value computed will be negative and if it was warmer the value will be positive.

Air Contaminant Emissions Registry
Under the Regulation Respecting the Mandatory Reporting of Certain Contaminant Emissions into the Atmosphere (RDOECA), the Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les Changements Climates de la Faune et des Parcs collects data on air contaminants emitted by Quebec businesses in particular. Thus, any person or municipality operating an establishment that emits air contaminants above thresholds into the atmosphere is required to report its emissions no later than June 1 of each year. This dataset includes emissions of air contaminants reported under RDOECA or voluntarily expressed in metric tons, with the exception of dioxin and furan emissions, which are expressed in metric tons of toxic equivalents.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Canadian Gridded Temperature Anomalies
Gridded monthly, seasonal and annual mean temperature anomalies derived from daily minimum, maximum and mean surface air temperatures (degrees Celsius) is available at a 50km resolution across Canada. The Canadian gridded data (CANGRD) are interpolated from homogenized temperature (i.e., AHCCD datasets). Homogenized temperatures incorporate adjustments to the original station data to account for discontinuities from non-climatic factors, such as instrument changes or station relocation. The anomalies are the difference between the temperature for a given year or season and a baseline value (defined as the average over 1961-1990 as the reference period). The yearly and seasonal temperature anomalies were computed for the years 1948 to 2017. The data will continue to be updated every year.
Pan-Canadian Wind Integration Study: Minimum temperature at 100 m
The minimum temperature layer shows the modeled minimum temperature [°C] at a height of 100 m above ground level, at each grid point, over the three year period from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2010. Values are presented in bins with ranges of 1.5 °C each. Further details including data for individual years can be obtained by clicking on the dot representing the grid point location.

Ground temperature investigations generally include the installation of temperature sensors at a variety of depth intervals, and data loggers which record the temperatures at regular time intervals ( e.g., hourly or daily) for varying time periods ranging from one-time or occasional measurements to multi-year monitoring. They also often involve the installation or monitoring of above-ground weather stations. Air quality – Average sulphur dioxide concentrations at monitoring stations
The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Air quality indicators track ambient concentrations of fine particulate matter, ground-level ozone, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and volatile organic compounds at the national, regional and urban levels and at local monitoring stations. The national and regional indicators are presented with their corresponding Canadian Ambient Air Quality Standard when available. Canadians are exposed to air pollutants on a daily basis, and this exposure can cause adverse health and environmental effects. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports.
