Terrestrial Ecosystem Information Scanned Map Boundary
STE_SCANNED_MAP_BOUNDARY_SP includes an index of the mapsheet grid location of Soils, Terrain, Ecosystems and related scanned maps (including Agriculture Capability and Climate Capability maps). These maps are intended for on-screen viewing or printing. The majority of the maps have been geo-referenced. Mapping may not cover the whole map grid area. Some maps are interim or draft and may have been superseded. Some files are of related legends and map project text. Associated scanned map boundary attributes describe the project map (project level metadata) and provide a link for downloading the map, plus links to related reports, geo-referenced maps, and GIS digital data available from other sources. ATTENTION - The IMAGE_URL link is only useable by BC government staff. Public users can download the scanned maps by using the ECOCAT_URL link. There is no charge for the scanned map files. Please note that some maps and more recent mapping may also be available in digital GIS format. See - Ecosystem and Terrain Mapping Data Inventory.
Terrain Mapping (TER) Project Boundaries
Terrain Mapping (TER) Project Boundaries (STE_TER_PROJECT_BOUNDARIES_SVW) contains boundaries (study areas) and attributes describing each TER project (project level metadata), plus links to the locations of other data associated with the project (e.g., reports, polygon datasets, plotfiles, legends). This layer is derived from the [STE_TEI_PROJECT_BOUNDARIES_SP](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/1313fac7-2ea1-4c6b-995b-bd421b7ec3c6) layer by filtering on the PROJECT_TYPE attribute. Project types include: TEM, TEMNSS, TEMPRE, TEMSEI, TEMSET, TEMTSM, TSM, TSMREC, TSMDET, TIM, TBS, TBT, TIMSOI, TEMWHR, TEMSDM, TEMPRW, and PEMTBT. TER project boundaries should be used in conjunction with TER detailed inventory polygons which divide the landscape into units according to surficial materials, landforms and geomorphological processes using the Terrain Classification System for British Columbia. TER inventory polygons with full Resources Information Standards Committee (RISC) attributes can be accessed through the [Terrestrial Ecosystem Information (TEI) Data Distribution Packages](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/8fd15e4e-e7b1-4566-81d1-1ff8947bfd46). TER inventory polygons with simplified and amalgamated (concatenated) RISC attributes can be accessed through the [Terrain Mapping (TER) Polygon Attributes](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/caf1ad28-9bd9-4b41-b2f8-928fff115855). Terrain Inventory Mapping (TIM) Detailed Polygons with Short Attribute Table Spatial View
Terrain Inventory Mapping (TIM) Detailed Polygons (STE_TER_INVENTORY_POLYS_SVW) contains TIM polygons with key and amalgamated (concatenated) attributes derived from the Resource Inventory Standards Committee (RISC) standard attributes. This layer is derived from the [STE_TEI_ATTRIBUTE_POLYS_SP](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/f2cd2cc3-5f58-481c-bf3c-64934acb6fad) layer by filtering on the PROJECT_TYPE attribute. Project types include: TIM and TIMSOI. TIM is multi-purpose and divides the landscape into units according to surficial material, surface expression and geomorphological process using the Terrain Classification System for British Columbia. Most of the inventory mapping was completed in the 1970s and 1980s on 1 to 50,000 scale base maps using air photo interpretation with selective field checking, and manual transfer and drafting of paper maps. These maps were later digitized and have been converted from IGDS or CAPAMP to ArcInfo to Geodatabase. TIM Detailed Polygon layer should be used in conjunction with [TER Project Boundaries](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/ad2f6d1e-cb53-4308-9263-e8deb731b996) which contain boundaries (study areas) and attributes describing each project (project level metadata), plus links to the locations of other data associated with the project (e.g., reports, polygon datasets, plotfiles, legends). TIM inventory polygons with full RISC attributes can be accessed through the [Terrestrial Ecosystem Information (TEI) Data Distribution Packages](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/8fd15e4e-e7b1-4566-81d1-1ff8947bfd46). **Current version**: v12 (2026-06-22)
Whitehorse Trails - 10k
The field work for the inventory was carried out during the winter of 2004/2005 with the project delivered by the contractor in October 2005. Delineation was based on 1:10,000 black and white photography acquired by the City of Whitehorse in 2001. Mapping and DTM were available for this project based on the 2001 photography.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Base Hydrography Point Event
The Base Hydrography Point Event layer contains hydrographic point features representing the locations of water or water related features captured through the 1:20000 Provincial Base Mapping Project, the 1:50000 Resource Access Mapping Program, the Alberta Vegetation Inventory Program and the Federal Government National Topographic Data Base 1:50000 mapping.
Terrestrial Ecosystem Information (TEI) Detailed Polygons with Short Table Attribute Table
STE_TEI_ATTRIBUTE_POLYS_SP contains Terrestrial Ecosystem Information (TEI) polygons with key and amalgamated (concatenated) attributes derived from the RISC (Resource Inventory Standards Committee) standard attributes. These describe the physical and biological characteristics of ecosystems at a landscape level. TEI currently includes Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM), Predictive Ecosystem Mapping (PEM), Sensitive Ecosystems Inventory (SEI), Terrain Mapping (TER), Wetland Mapping (WET) and Soil Mapping (SOIL). Mapping methods include manual air photo interpretation and modeling supported by limited field checking. **Current version**: v12 (2026-06-22)
FRI: Terrain contours
Terrain contours (TRNCNT) is a vector delineation of areas of equivalent elevation, in 5 m classes, as contour lines.Download: Here The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, Forest Service Branch, has developed a forest resource inventory (FRI) which meets a variety of strategic and operational planning information needs for the boreal plains. Such needs include information on the general land cover, terrain, and growing stock (height, diameter, basal area, timber volume and stem density) within the provincial forest and adjacent forest fringe. This inventory provides spatially explicit information as 10 m or 20 m raster grids and as vectors polygons for relatively homogeneous forest stands or naturally non-forested areas with a 0.5 ha minimum area and a 2.0 ha median area. Terrain contours (TRNCNT) is a vector delineation of areas of equivalent elevation, in 5 m classes, as contour lines. For more information, see the Forest Inventory Standard of the Saskatchewan Environmental Code, Forest Inventory Chapter.
Shore Unit Classifications - Line
The Shore Unit Classifications Lines depict the most current Shorezone mapping lines for the Province of British Columbia. Shorezone is an aerial imaging, habitat classification, and mapping system used to inventory alongshore and across-shore geomorphological and biological attributes of the coast. Habitat attributes are interpreted from oblique aerial imagery acquired during the lowest tides of the year.
Canada Flood Map Inventory (CFM)
The Canada Flood Map inventory shows areas in Canada where a copy of a flood hazard map has been collected by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The inventory does not display flood zones or extents, but provides information on how to access these flood hazard maps. Depending on the license and availability status to the public, there may be links for download, along with reference information to the original source and/or data owner. NRCan collaborates with provincial and territorial governments to gather flood hazard maps from provinces, territories, municipalities, and other agencies responsible for flood mapping. The inventory is regularly updated to improve its completeness and accuracy. Disclaimer: The Canada Flood Map (CFM) does not include every flood hazard map in Canada and may be incomplete or contain inaccuracies. It should not be relied upon as the official source of flood mapping information. Furthermore, if a map appears to be missing, this does not necessarily mean that the area has never been mapped. For the official version of a map, updated information, or confirmation of applicable regulations, please contact the local authority responsible for flood mapping.Note: Data and maps in the Inventory can be made available upon request to federal and contributing partners.
